Oubaas @ the Doctor

The skin doctor that is. ๐Ÿ™‚

The bossman gave me his car so I could go shopping for a 2 weeks supply of food …
… and when I returned to the shop they’ve already started with the preparations.
The first couple layers of bodyfiller are being scraped off.
My moss farm on the roof. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
OW! My eyes! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
See? Africans can be hard-working workers … sometimes … when the white lady watches and takes photos. ๐Ÿ™‚
No beer, this is some energy drink.
So they won’t forget what paints they must order for me.
Van is already a metric tonne lighter. ๐Ÿ˜‰
At one point in his lifetime Oubaas was blue-metallic. Pretty. =^.^=
In a couple days I’ll have another look at the progress. But the start did already look promising.

The German owner of some mechanic shop on the other side of the yard told me “These guys are doing things to cars that shouldn’t be done.” When he saw my ๐Ÿ˜ฎ face he was like “I mean that as a compliment. They are really good at what they’re doing. They just do stuff other panel beaters would shy away from.”

Hey that’s what I need, planning to have a high top and a bull bar n stuffz …

So Oubaas is in good hands. Pheeew. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Neither can we, Cindy, neither can we. But for now we’re kinda grounded again, the panelbeater will pick me up sometimes when he has progress to show or needs my decicision on stuffz. Thank god for corona, so we just keep on living in lockdown … like we’re supposed to do anyway, aren’t we. Sitting on at least 2 weeks worth of food so chances of survival are high. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I bet!!! Yes… you are doing the right thing for sure! Like you said: what else can we do! Iโ€™ve been totally distanced until my daughter whoโ€™s been gone for 8 Months literally jumped on me and hugged and kissed me all over. All of my worry of how I was going to be so mindful and distanced, went out the window! Iโ€™m not gonna lie, it was so tender and I loved every minute of it.
    Good you are stocked up!
    Us too!

    • The thing with lockdown is that you really need a vehicle to get around. Obviously not what lockdown was intended to be like. But having food delivered is expensive and the choice is spotty … and half of the stuff you order is out of stock or sumfink. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ So I rather drive up the the real great foodlovers market and decide spontaniously what we fancy. And I have to do that often, since our fridge isn’t American jumbo size.

Right now our fridge is much fuller than in the post above. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

      • I hope your car is done soon!
On the plus, Finns is the only thing to spend money on right now. But I hear ya. I couldnโ€™t even find anyone to deliver for quite awhile but now Iโ€™ve got the hang of it. Your fridge looks really greatly stocked!

        • The van will take at least 4 weeks. + high top + bull bar + sun roofs …

And delivery is no problem, Capetonians can be remarkaby fast when there is some money to be made. So our super markets make use of the food delivery guys. Now that most restaurants were/are closed it’s win/win for both sides.

And this time right now, our fridge is even fullerer. I had to be brutal with some stuff to make it all fit. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Oh yes, many retired carpenters and electricians do so. Buuuut … well, your son is young, he should buy a van, trick it out and go on the road himself. That’s the life! Not building stuff for other people to enjoy.
