Particularly women and children of the Donbass region, have 2 options: They can either flee to the West (Ukraine proper) or Eastwards (Russia). Neither option is ideal. I guess most would stay put at their homes if it wasn’t so friggin’ dangerous. I guess – guessing is all anyone can do now – the people who decided for Ukraine will run into problems: unsecure food supply, no jobs, no money, no schools, no hospitals … and the war will arrive there pretty soon if the Russians don’t stop at the Dnipro river.

The people deciding to cross over to Russia are better off. New passports, social security, jobs, money, food, a proper refugee status. Only problem for them is – they are strangers in a strange land. ;/
