Second Life Destinations – Battleship Yamato Memorial

When I visited the memorial, like, at least 10 years ago, I was really impressed. The scale alone knocked me off my feet. And all the details were breathtaking. And it was all done in oldstyle prims. Dunno if they rebuilt it all as mesh models now.

EDIT: Wrong, it was 2015 and they built it already in mesh. Stupidly I deleted all the photos of 2015 since I was running out of storage space.

Just too bad Drax filmed this with midnight light setting. I’d loved to see more clearly.

This virtual memorial site features 1:1 scaled models of the Japanese battleship YAMATO, which was commissioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy shortly after their attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, as well as the aircraft carrier AKAGI, which was originally built in the 1920s. The models were built by MASAKADO Allen. At the landing point, you can pick up a free airplane to fly around the region. Explore the biggest battleship in the world at this impressive 3D replica!
