At 09:00 SLT on Friday, March 10th, 2023, there will be pre-recorded Lab Gab session, featuring three of the Labโs Second Life leadership team: Grumpity Linden, Mojo Linden and Patch Linden. They will be discussing all things SL-related and responding to questions submitted in advance of the event.
Grumpity Linden: heads up Second Life Product team, where she has overseen a shift to growth, a stronger, more balanced economy, movement towards better community cohesion, and an overall forward-looking approach. She originally started at LL whilst working for The Product Engine, and was involved in the development of Viewer 2 (as designed by 80/20 Studio), prior to joining LL full-time in 2014. As the Vice President of Product, she is responsible for coordinating the various teams involved in bringing features and updates to Second Life, liaising with legal, financial and compliance to ensure features andโฆ
Ya, she is. Didn’t she appear as a stick figure in earlier shows? But clearly a woman nevertheless. Very sober thoughts by you. ๐ And, just like you, I won’t watch it neither, am not that much involved in SL anymore. But I always link to every official Linden Lab announcement I can find. Kinda service, makes me feel useful. ๐
How ya doin’ Becs? Howz life treatin ya? Any Linuxy newnesses or still a happy hippo on Manjo/KDE?
Ok, 7:58 a.m., time to grab my gym bag and start the day …
I’m, doing well Orca! Just living my SL and RL. Hoping I get the new 5.27 Plasma soon. Manjaro is ultra slow at passing on the latest and greatest, but glad they are testing it out for us ๐ Other than that Linux be very very good to me.
Glad to hear that, Becs. One never knows. People switch back n forth for many reasons; professional, personal, general unhappiness with the system …
Manjaro, yeah, they trek like 2 weeks behind Arch for “testing” reasons. I never bought that. Arch is quick but they’re not suicidal. All packages are tested before they hit our computers. Maybe not as extensive as in the Deb/Ubu verse but there you’ll have to wait, dunno, 6 mths for your new Plasma version. ๐ฎ I guess Manjo’s update path is a good compromise between cutting edge and rocksolidstable.
BTW, I seem to remember when I started with Manjaro we could choose between an unstable and a stable version, which translates into unfiltered Arch vs cowardish Manjo updates. But that was, like, 1000 years ago and I have no idea if that’s still a thing we can do today.
By now I can’t be bothered anymore. Must be the most ass-backwards conservative computer user ever, won’t let Endeavour stress me out but am over the moon happy with my humble Manjo systems. When people complain about my Mate desktop looking oldfashioned I will just say “Yeah … fits me like a glove.”
welcome to my little corner of daily inspiration on subjects of fashion, architecture, art ... etc. #steampunk #dark #victorian #gothic #architecture #art #design #culture
Grumpity is a woman? Ok, but i still not be watching. Just my drunk words ๐
