Total nonsense. But oh so good. 😉

Picking up where The Suicide Squad (2021) left off, Peacemaker returns home after recovering from his encounter with Bloodsport – only to discover that his freedom comes at a price.

After a catastrophically bad Suicide Squad (2016) and a very quirky cool The Suicide Squad (2021), now we get an HBO series centered on John Cena’s character Peacemaker. Yes, Peacemaker, the brutal killer with not much of anything else of a character. So we thought.

But no, he ain’t just a brutal doofus in this series but a killer working for the gvt! He and his team are such a weird bunch of failures and outsiders, it’s a fukn joy watching their funny exploits.

Directed and scripted by James Gunn you know the kind of leftfield fun you’re in with this series. There’s a lot at stake here (alien invasion) and all the characters are dead serious and the actors play them straightfaced. For example Peacemakers white supremacist nazi daddy. A guy we had real fun hating, he was so good at being bad.

We also get to see lots of unsanitary mass murders and really goofy action scenes. Fortunately for us the whole gang is totally awkward and as clumsy and goofy as they are morally flexible.
