Linux Kernel 6.0

That’s a big thing in the Linux world, a generational leap from Kernel 5 to 6. Kernel 5 was released in October 2020 and by now Kernel group boss Linus Torvalds (the man, the myth, the legend) found that it had spawned enough little version updates and increments, it was time for a new major number change.

Anyhoo, this is live from one of Orca’s computers:

A last check shows us recent kernel is 5.19.13 -1-Manjaro
That can’t stand. In Manjaro settings we find Kernel 6 is out of experimental phase and officially installable as the latest mainline kernel. Of course stuntgrrl orca kliks on GimmeDatDing!.
Patiently waiting for the magic to happen …
SUCCESS! Now we quickly reboot the whole system …
… and the new check reveals Kernel 6.0.0-1-Manjaro has been successfully installed. \o/

Since I’m such a fancy beetch I’m ahead of the normal Manjaro kernel version. I guess Manjaro is regularly on Kernel 5.15.72, which is already far ahead of all the Debian and Ubuntu Linuxes. But me, I am on par with the “real” Arch. πŸ™‚
