5 Things To Do After Installing Manjaro

Disclaimer: After. Installing. Manjaro. Mint or other distro users need not apply. OK?

So boyblob Matt tells you about 5 things you can/should do after you’ve installed the nice – but sometimes troubling – Manjaro.

Today I talk about a few things you should do after installing Manjaro Linux for the first time.

Right now I’m having some problems, too. No biggie but someone in the Manjo update crew did some fukuppery. Look:

I run YT on the YouTube High Definition Add-on with a Dark theme …
… but after each restart of YT it defaults back to Light. ๐Ÿ˜

I know this is just an appearance thing and doesn’t influence the function. Still it irks and confuses me. When I switch YouTube to a dark theme I want it so and I want it to stick, dammit!

See, even the mostest famoustest and mostest belovedest Linuxes are made by humans from planet Earf. A frail bunch with weak brains and sloppy mindsets. Eventho the Manjo main guys are from Austria and Germany, accidents will happen. Maybe they should get some Japanese or Chinese nerds into their dev crew?

Did I complain and raise a stink in the Manjo forum?

No, why? I’m sure this will be correctified pretty soonish. We’re not talking about careless Microsoft here, do we?

Anyhoo, don’t forget to set your parallel downloads in pacman.conf from 5 to 10, and all will be good for you. ๐Ÿ˜‰ For me it was the only trick I applied to my system. Haven’t tried it yet, since there are no updates scheduled right now but will probably notice the gain in speed soon enuff.
