The weather conditions were smooth yesterday. Amy, Sanja, Ella, Izi and Lucy joined me on our highspeed courses 1 and 2 with wind from South and 25knots.

Amy was just 1sec too early at the startline and had to turn around the green buoy and start again. So she started about 20sec behind the fleet. Sanja and Izi (00:01) started best parallel with Ella (00:02) and me (00:03) following them very close and Lucy just a little later (00:10).
After the start we stayed this close together on the first leg to buoy CN. The turn around buoy CN mixed the order a little bit. Izi got the best turn and took the lead. Ella and i were chasing her now on the leg to buoy OE side by side and Lucy caught up with Sanja. Amy was still trying bravely to catch up after her bad luck at the start.
We finished the first lap in the new order and started the second lap with full speed.

It doesnt look as close on the picture as i saw it on my screens. Izi was on my left and i heard Ella very close on my right. So we reached buoy CN nearly parallel and turned around it parallel.
Izi could increase her lead a little on the highspeed part to buoy OE and i could keep Ella behind me. Sanja and Lucy caucht up with Ella and the finish was really close.

The start of the second race was a lot closer. Izi and Ella started first parallel and we others followed in a close group.
The first two legs on course 2 to buoy IS via buy CS are done with hiking. That means to keep the windsurfer on top speed you need to steer very sensible and cant do actually a picture during that, because you might end up in the water before you got the picture. But it was looking so cool racing this part so close together side by side that i risked to make a little video clip and tried to catch the excitement.
Ella found a little mousehole at the turn around buoy IS while Izi, Sanja, Lucy, Amy and me got in touch with each others a little bit. No major hits, but enough to take a bit more time to accelerate again. That gave Ella a nice leed. Izi and i chased her and behind us Lucy, Sanja and Amy started a very exciting triel. Lucy, Sanja and Amy looked like one “big” dot on minimap already on the leg to buoy OE and after Izi and i caught up with Ella during the turn around buoy OE we 3 looked like a second “big” dot on minimap. The whole leg between buoy OE and CN it looked like only 2 “big” dots were racing within a distance of about 50m.
We all turned in this constellation around buoy CN and sailed downwind to buoy ON and then upwind to buoy OE. I just managed to pass Ella at buoy ON with a slightly better turn and more speed. We all then saved our positions until the finish.

Good timing and a little luck at the turns and the best feeling to keep the speed at maximum helps best to win a race on our courses 1 and 2. Congrats to Izi and Ella for doing that best to win race 1 and 2. And big thank to all to make yesterday another really exciting race day.

First race. After a late start I could caught Sanja when she made an error in buoy OE (1st lap) but was not able to maintain myself in front of her 🙂

Second race. With a special view of our ‘triel’ until the triple collision. In my view we cannot blame anybody in special. That happened because we were too close, without chance to react in time.

1. Lucy, your videos should get a price. They show the excitement and the dynamic of our windsurfing races. Awesome.
2. Compared to about 6 months ago you all improved so much that our turns around the buoys are as close as ever, but you all respect the room of the others and do it in the most fair way. Awesome.
3. Now i understand what Sanja meant when she said she ran into you and Amy in the second race. She just used the wrong arrow key for that turn and well… i bet she was too excitied.
And 4. Dutch should install a video wall at his beach to let run some of your videos for his customers. He wont find a better advertisment for these windsurfers.

LOL
Esme bought a SeaBoss and is planning some races with it in Chaos after seeing my videos. (at least this is what she told me 😛 )

Yes and not only Esme bought the SBR. Zia, Myra, Salehna and Walid did already and i bet some more will do as well and i helped them to set them up with the AVsit kit and the info text HUD and tried to give them tips to learn it faster.
So yes your videos watered their mouths… well done

BTW, she published a video with tips on SeaBoss, but wasnt yet using the text hud 😉

Super videos again, Lucy – thank you!
I noticed that the SBR HUD in Esme’s video is showing the AWA for a North wind, not the actual SW wind that she was sailing with! Although I used it for a long time last season, with some success, I would suggest to new SBR sailors that they should forget about that HUD.

Someone at CSC forced Esme to do this video “urgently” and so she couldnt do it perfect… well sometimes a little patience can help to let people do it right…
