The rolling restarts were finished in time for our race and the conditions were quite ok.
Lisa, Ester, Lucy, Aymalie, Ella, Erin, Nicci, Erica, Izi, Amy, Moon, Jack (with crew Dora) and Rugger came out yesterday for our reversed B22 course 2 and wind from South West with 21knots.

At the start Ella was a couple of seconds early and tried to avoid to be over early. Rugger next to her was fair, left her enough room to the southern line buoy and she could cross the line at 00:00. Ella, Rugger, Lisa and Izi won the start, Erin and Nicci followed them close and Ester, Moon, Amy, Aymalie, Lucy, Jack and Erica started to chase the leading group just a bit later.

On the first leg all sailors found slowly their place in the fleet and Rugger took the advantage of the best start and took the lead.
Lisa found the best speed on the first leg and passed Rugger already at the first buoy CN. Ruger, Ella and Izi followed her.
Behind the leading 4 Erin, Amy, Nicci, Moon and Aymalie reached very close together buoy CN. Lucy, Ester and Erica followed them. Only Jack was fighting a bit with lag at the end.
The next long leg to buoy OW via the little rock at Degrand island is a code leg. Lisa increased her lead a bit followed by the triel of Rugger, Ella and Izi. Nicci hit a corner, got pulled off her boat, got back on it and fell out off the chasers group.
The little rock at Degrand Island should be left on port. Amy and Moon took it on the wrong side, but without any advantage. Thats why i didnt say anything during the race.
Amy caught up with Rugger and Izi after doing an awesome turn around buoy OW while Ella fell back behind Moon because of a slower turn around buoy OW.
The leg around Degrand Island back to buoy IS is at the edge of code or spin use. As i said last week already you can sail such a leg constantly and with a stable high speed and code or with a varying speed and spin. You can see the different decisions in the next video.
At buoy IN you can watch the different ways of turning around the buoy and that it is quite important to have the right timing changing the foresail for a more narrow and faster turn.
During the gibes around the private sims on the way to buoy CN Lisa increased her lead, Izi passed Rugger, Moon passed Amy, Ella caught up with them again and Ester started her chase for the group in front of her. Behind them another group of Aymalie, Lucy and Nicci found together.
The leg to buoy ON is a full downwind leg and the choice of the course and when to gibe is important to be fast. Ester and Aymalie did that best and caught up a lot with the sailors in front of them.
But we had some technical issues as well. The boats of Izi, Rugger and Amy sailed after a crossing alone and passed buoy ON on the wrong side. Only Izi could get back on her boat again and fell far back to the end of the fleet. Rugger and Amy couldn’t continue the race. Shame that SL decided again this exciting group duel.
The long leg to buoy CS is an upwind leg. Ester with her awesome downwind leg could pass Ella at buoy ON and both caught up with Moon and made the first chasers triel of Lisa now.
The Lisa hunters nicely lined up on the upwind leg to buoy CS and after the already quite long race still pretty close together.
Lisa reaching buoy CS first. Followed by all her chasers, who chose different lines to buoy CS, but came all close together again.
On the spin leg to buoy OE Ester started to catch up more and more with Moon. Behind them Lucy, Aymalie and Ella created a triel. They sailed nearly all the time to the finish side by side. It was an awesome and exciting to watch the 3 in their awesome and fair fight.
Erin and Nicci watched the 3 in “popcorn watching distance” and Jack and Erica had an exciting duel at the end of the fleet.
Ester catches up inch by inch with Moon on the upwind leg to buoy CN. Lucy, Ella and Aymalie still side by side watched by Erin, Nicci and Jack now.
On the last upwind leg to the race line Oprince Ester finally passed Moon. Aymalie, Lucy and Ella were sailing still side by side, watched by Erin and Nicci and by Jack and Erica. Poor Izi after her bad luck chased Erica and Jack and caught up constantly meter by meter.

Congrats to Lisa for her win, to Ester for her awesome chase through the fleet and her second place and for all the fair but extreme exciting duels and triels along the course.
After the race we celebrated Ellas 3rd rez day in advance during our after race party at our Tiki Bar, which is nicely decorated for the Christmas season by Hakiria.
Ezio created a new beer and called it “Biancaness”. We all got a first taste of it and agreed that this will be the new tradition beer at Saint Aubrey after our races.

Awesome video like always Lucy.
And it wasnt only the exciting finish i loved so much but the triel between you three had during several legs at the end of the race. The finish was just the cherry on the triel cake.

Lisa said she looks at the videos as learning videos as well and you two make that possible
Besides that they are of course fun watching the others in exciting sailing duels.
And i am really happy a lot of people read them.
