No fear my dears, you don’t have to read Karmi’s article about Sparky Linux now …
… but let’s be clear about this. Karmi and Orca are both recommending this humble little – but o so practical – Debian based distro. Both for completely different reasons both prefering it with different desktop environments (Karmi likes Cinnamon, me Mate) and Sparky doesn’t care one way or the other. It’s a good base for geeking out but also the stablestest of work horses for when you just need to get the job done.
Don’t get me wrong, Sparky, in all its simplicity, ain’t a beginners’ distro, although n00bs can get it quite fast. Anyway, we both prefer Sparky over LMDE and MX.
So, okay, let’s have a look at Orca’s latest list of recommendations, shall we?
- For total n00bs: Nothing else but the standard Linux Mint
- For advanced users:
LMDESparky - For when you silly: Manjaro
- For when you really silly: EndeavourOS
That’s it.
Now go and install whatever you guess is right for you … but please don’t delete your Win just yet. Please take your time and install Linux on some spare, cheap as shit lappy, ok.
You’ve been my Muse for a long long time – 🃏
