Lisa, LeC, Izi, Ella and Lucy joined me yesterday on our SBR courses 4 and 3 with wind from North East and 25knots. Before the race Izi had lots of disconnects and she was getting pretty desperate already. But in the 2 races all calmed down for her and the conditions were pretty sunny for all, all finished.

The start in the courses 4 and 3 are very different to the ones in our high speed courses 1 and 2 and the timing is more challenging. Thats why we just don’t start with all parallel and are mostly lined up more and some legs include the options to decide hike or not and for how long.
In race 1 Izi, me, Ella and Lucy started all with some seconds difference. LeC and Lisa followed a lot later.
All the way to buoy IS via buoy CS i tried not to let Izi sail away and to keep Ella behind me. At buoy IS i could do a little smaller turn than Izi and could catch up with her.
We three could sail a but away of Lucy and at the end Lisa passed LeC, sailed away from him and caught up a bit with Lucy.

On the following upwind leg i managed to pass Izi and we two had Ella all the time in our neck.
The final leg is one of these “decision legs”, when do i start to hike for the fastest finish. Izi and Ella found a better timing for that than me. Izi passed me and Ella caught up very close.
The Finish: 1. Izi, me, 2. Ella. Impossible for me to catch them with a pictures.

The start of race 2 was closer. Specially Lisa and LeC had a much better timing this time. Ella won the start and used her better line to buoy CN to sail away a bit from Izi and me. Lucy, Lisa and LeC started an exciting triel on the zigzag legs to buoy OW via CN, IN and IS.
Ella defended her lead to buoy OW and i could sail a bit away from Izi. Lisa followed Lucy close and both sailed away from LeC.

The leg between OW and CN is another “decision leg”. How much and when do i hike.
Ella hiked this time a bit too long and i could catch up a lot with her at buoy CN.
Izi and Lucy sailed a bit away from Lisa after Lisa tested the water East of Degrand Island.

Ella and i started the long upwind leg after buoy CN parallel and i could pass her after the tack to buoy ON. Izi and Lucy were trying to catch up more with us.

The hiking downwind leg to the finish line is a bit tricky because you need to cross the line from east to west to get registered. But all did it well and finished in the following order:
Me, 1. Ella (sorry too close behind me for a picture)

Congrats to Izi for her win in first race and to Ella in second race and great performance of all others, specially to LeC who is since quite a long time the first brave man again who dares to sail against all these beautiful speed queens.
Arriving at the Tiki Bar for a relaxed after race beer this awesome group of sailors had a surprise for me. I thought i could keep my rez day secret, but then i saw i failed with it and they had organized a big party for me with heaps of guests and even Aoshi for the music. I love you all and not only for this beautiful surprise.

P.S. I got Kim’s update of her Info Text Hud and it is now very logically with all the values and a great help to sail fast.
For some reason I don’t have the video for 2nd race. But here is 1st race 😉
And congrats for your rezzday, Bi. I couldn’t stay for the party but was there in spirit 😀
