Lucy, Aymalie, Nicci, Amy, Erica, Sea, Hart, Flapio, Rugger and LeC joined on our reversed course 1 with wind from North East and 21knots.
The rolling restarts during the day of the main channel restarted our complete race area, but the sailors and Noe had surprisingly a lot of lag during the race.
Rugger got disconnected at the first crossing during prestart and didn’t even see the start line.
Hart got disconnected during the race and sent back home after her login. She tried to come back, but her USB was set to the former status and she had the racecourse from last week on. No wonder she gave up after a bit sadly.
Sea hit in the last quarter of the race a corner and crashed unfortunately. She had great duels during the race with Aymalie, Nicci and Amy and sailed really well until her crash.
Some seconds after the prestart was started LeC appeared in the marina and rezzed his boat. I told him to start out of the marina without running into the others and he did.
Lucy, Flapio, Aymalie, Nicci and Sea startedparallel with full speed within 5sec. Poor Amy got hit badly in the first couple of legs with lag. That caused that she missed the start line and had to sail back and start again with 30sec delay. Erica and Hart started with Amy and LeC with his delay start out of the marina at the end of the fleet. Only poor Rugger didn’t see the start line.
Amy had still a lot of lag and that caused her to miss buoy CS and she had to sail back and do it in the right direction. The same happened to LeC. Most of the sailor went after buoy CS to the North.
Flapio decided to do a 180° turn to the East and that just in front of Sea. Sea ran into him, because she had no chance anymore to sail around Flapio and Flapio did his 360° penalty for this some legs later.
Lucy sailed clever on the second leg and reached buoy CN first. The others followed her nicely lined up and after the lag issues Amy started her chase from the end of the fleet and she did a great recover. You will see.
Lucy extended her lead meter by meter. Aymalie caught up with Flapio and Sea chased the 2. Nicci and Erica had a duel side by side and Amy was catching up more and more with Hart already.
the leg between buoy IS and IN is a short upwind leg, but give the sailors different options to try to get an advantage. Lucy sailed still without any mistakes in front, Flapio did his 360° penalty, Aymalie passed with a better turn around buoy IN Sea and Amy came closer and closer.
Behind Lisa, Aymalie and Sea sailed the spin leg side by side and Nicci could catch up with the 2 at buoy OW. Behind them Erica and Amy were chasing Flapio. LeC having them in sight and in the background we just see the last seconds of Hart before her disconnect.
At buoy OW Flapio did a much too wide turn and got passed by Erica, Amy and LeC.
LeC got pulled off the boat and tried to get back in. Flapio hit first the lonely boat and then passed it. Amy on her chase passed Erica as well and caught up more and more with Nicci.
Lucy arrived buoy OW first, followed by Aymalie, Sea Nicci (not yet on the screen) and Amy.
On the following downwind leg Lucy were far in front followed by Aymalie who could sail away a bit from Sea and Nicci catching up more with Sea.
The lag hitted even Noe with her cam as you can see in the next video. But you can see as well that Lucy is still safely leading and Aymalie now safely second. Behind Aymalie you can imagine the exciting duell of Sea and Nicci.
The video of the sailors turning around the last buoy CS ended nearly in a black screen crash, because of the extreme lag Noe had. Thats why i leave that one out here. During that time Sea hit a sim corner and crashed unfortunately after she sailed really well so far.
On the final leg Nicci and Amy were sailing nearly side by side and Nicci could just save a little rest of 6sec before Amy.
Congrats to Lucy for her well sailed win, to Amy for her awesome recover, to LeC for his first race ever and to all others for exciting and fair duels.
