Yesterday Ella, Erin, Nicci, Jessi, Erica, Mizi, Lucy, Hart, Moon and Rugger (with crew Cruella) came for our new course 2 with wind north east and 21 knots. The sims behaved after the rolling restarts actually ok.
We had only some local issues. Hart and Mizi crashed before the start. Mizi came back after some minutes, found her boat some sims further west and started nearly 9min after all others. Hart didn’t come back unfortunately.
Lucy got an important phone call and had to leave the race when she was on leg 3.

Ella, Nicci, Moon, Lucy and Erin started close together within 5sec. Erica, Rugger and Jessi in her first race with us little later and well Mizi as already mentioned a lot later.
Ella took the advantage out of the best start and sailed a bit away from all. Only Moon could follow her a bit.

But on the following downwind leg to buoy CN Ella increased her lead

A little later Lucy told us that she has to leave the race. Ella sailed on the upwind leg to buoy OE without any mistakes and increased her lead more and more.
At buoy OE Moon sailed why ever a very big circle. Erin and Rugger could pass him there and Nicci and Jessi caught up a lot with him.

Ella continued sailing without any mistakes in the front and it looked already pretty safe for her there.

Moon tried to catch up on the downwind leg to buoy CS with Rugger again.

The long upwind to buoy ON gave the sailors several options to tack. And at buoy ON most came close together again. Moon passed on that leg Rugger.

Nicci passed Rugger at buoy ON and Jessi caught up with Rugger a bit more

On the downwind leg to buoy OW via buoy IN, IS and Degrand Island Erin put up the code for quite some time instead of the spin and lost a bit again against Nicci, Moon and Rugger, but she stroke back on the on the long way to OW.
After buoy OW Moon went a lot more south than the others and he fell back again behind Erin, Nicci and Rugger.
Ella not mentioned in the last legs sailed safely far in front and didn’t make any mistakes.

The finish of Erin, Nicci and Rugger looked first a lot closer and thats why i started a little video.

After Moon finished i went back on the course to look for Erica and Mizi. I found Erica just before starting the last leg and Mizi on her way from buoy IS to OW:

While i waited for Mizi to finish some went already to the next race and the rest went already to the Tiki Bar.

Congrats to Ella for an awesome win, to all who made it great along this new course and to Mizi who sailed it alone at the end of the fleet after her bad luck at the start.

“At buoy OE Moon sailed why ever a very big circle.”
Maybe he made a ciggie break and didn’t pay attention to the computer?
“While i waited for Mizi to finish some went already to the next race and the rest went already to the Tiki Bar.”
Reminds me on my first races in 2007. Little Orca, with 32m draw distance and 500ms latency, lost on the much too big ocean, no clue about nothing … and the fleet already started the next race. π¦

I saw Moon sailing a lot longer straight before he turned… First i thought its a disconnect crash, but then he turned… Maybe it was lag on the crossing before…
Everyone who starts in my race (and i don’t care how long i have to wait) deserves a finish picture…
