Sanja, Izi, Ella, Lucy, Amy and Ester joined me yesterday on our courses 4 and 3 with wind from North East and 25knots. Sanja told me some hours before the race that there are sims not really behaving and i went into the support chat and asked them to restart our whole area (28 sims), which they did a bit more than 2 hours before the race. Our conditions were like a fresh sunny morning during the race. Amy’s crash in the second race was unfortunately a disconnect after hitting a cross.

We don’t have the new courses very long yet and they need a different start routine and timing. But when you look into the result lists you see how good all did in both races with the starts already. Race 1: all 7 withing 7sec and Race 2: first 6 within 5sec and only Amy a little later.
The new courses have found every week another victim who chooses a little wrong turn at a buoy. Yesterday it were in first race Izi and in second race me. And with the speed and skills of the others it always means “chasing the fleet”

The fleet was close together nearly the whole race. Izi was on a little detour but joined the fleet at the second buoy. I could pass Ella at the second buoy IS with a better turn and defended my lead into the finish. But i can tell you it is hard work. These girls are fast and merciless hunters.

Amy close behind Ella fell back because her wind compass didn’t move the USB function to next way point and she had to do it manually, which happened too late, because she noticed it too late. Izi passed Lucy on her chase after her detour and the 4 (Sanja, Ella, Izi and Lucy) kept me the whole time on my toes.

The finish: me, 1. Sanja, 2. Ella, 3. Izi, 4. Lucy. But they were all so close behind me that i had no time for their finish pictures and got only one of Amy and Ester.

The race 2 started very similar to race 1 and Izi, Ella, Sanja and me were side by side on the way to buoy CN.
Don’t ask me why i wanted to pass buoy CN on the wrong side but i did and realized it after i saw the others pass it on the other side. Well i had to sail back and sail around on the right side.
But now all were gone. Only Lucy was just close behind me. I started my chase for the rest of the fleet.
On the leg to buoy IN i was a little too optimistic with the distance to a cross and it pulled me off. My board was still sailingdirection buoy IN. I had to tp back on it and i noticed that it would pass buoy IN as well on the wrong side, but clicking the arrow keys only rotated my cam. So i had to moor and start again to reset the steering. In the meantime Lucy passed me at buoy IN. So i had a new aim for my chase: Lucy and Ester.
Sanja, Izi, Ella and Amy had an exciting close race. But then Amy hit a cross as well and wasnt as lucky as i was and got disconnected instead. Ella made some little mistakes with the turns and Sanja and Izi could sail away from her. The two stayed close together until the finish line.
I could pass Lucy near buoy CN and later Ester at buoy ON.

The finish of race 2: 1. Sanja, 2. Izi, 3. Ella and me

Congrats to Sanja for her 2 wins and all the others, who get more and more comfortable with the new courses.

The new courses become slowly as exciting as the old ones and we will see in the future a lot more of our exciting races.

In first race I’ve let everyone pass me, one by one, in 2nd leg. From then on all I could do was watch the leaders fighting and take a few close views of them. (video below)
In minimap, each racer is colored as below:
Bianca – red
Amy (Montserrat) – cyan
Ella (eleanorvelvet) – green
Izi – white
Sanja – yellow
Ester (citacg) – purple

In second one, I followed Bianca in the wrong side but I realised too late it and tried to avoid it, with disastrous results.
