Windsurfing Race Day 35 with Sea Boss Rider at Saint Aubrey yesterday

Lucy, Ella, Izi, Amy and Ester joined me yesterday on our reversed courses 1 and 2 with wind from North and 25knots. The weather was mostly fine. Only Ester got disconnected in second race unfortunately.

the fleet at the briefing

Amy, Izi, Ella and Ester crossed nearly parallel the start line. I followed only a bit later and Lucy slept over the start totally. She said after the race she “lost her mind” totally and messed it up. She won half of her start loss back during the race, but stayed last. Anyway, well sailed Lucy.
Izi took the advantage out of her good start and sailed slowly away from all with two best times in both laps. She sailed perfect and her win was never in danger.
Behind her Ella, Ester and me were sailing both laps side by side. I could pass the both on the high speed middle leg in lap 1 and 2, but Ella passed me again on the final leg in both laps and Ester came in both laps very close again on the final leg.
Ella passed me on the finish line by a blink and Ester was just at the end of my board. This was one of our closest finish between 3 racers ever: 3 within 1sec.
Amy followed us in Popcorn distance during both laps.

Lucy chasing the fleet

Lucy found her mind back for the second start and we all started nearly parallel within 8sec. Izi was again sailing away after the start on the first leg and continued that on the following upwind and downwind legs.
We all were following her on the way to buoy OE.

100m after the start

Lucy passed me with a better turn at the first buoy OE and chased Ella. Izi took the more risky upwind line close to the land. You can cut the corner of that sim there but it is sometimes very laggy there and so risky. Izi was lucky and went though without issues and increased her lead more.
Behind her Ella, Lucy and i were sailing very close together. Lucy tacked a lot earlier than me on the upwind tack and Ella after me. With that i could catch up with Lucy at buoy ON and could pass Ella at buoy ON.

right after the first buoy OE on the upwind leg
a bit after buoy ON on the downwind leg

Lucy, me and Ella were sailing the downwind leg to buoy CN as close together as we did the whole time already, but with changed positions.
At buoy CN i could get parallel to Lucy by turning more on the inside. And from there we two sailed the next 2 high speed legs side by side at more than 16 knots speed.
Ella followed us now with a bit more distance and Amy again in her Popcorn position. Sometime between buoy OE and CN poor Ester got disconnected.
Izi was about 120m in front of Lucy and me and looked like the safe winner again. But then she “lost her mind” this time and turned why ever at buoy CN already, which is half way from buoy OE to IS on the long high speed leg. She noticed her fatal mistake but it was too late. Lucy, Ella and me had passed her already and Izi could only follow us then.
I was just 5 sec faster at the second last turn around buoy IS, could get a little distance to Lucy and saved these 6 sec into the finish.
Ella, Izi and Amy followed us with a bit more distance.

Two really exciting and close races again and congrats to Izi for winning the first race and Lucy the second race.

the group after the race at the Tiki Bar with some cold drinks and hot snacks

Joi and Ezio watched the race and Joi decided to practice more with the windsurfer to join the fun in near future.

Lucy said she will cut her video of the second race later. So i bet she will add it later in the comments again. And when you saw her last race videos you should come back sometimes today to watch it. It is always worth it.
