Sanja, Ella, Amy and Lucy joined me yesterday on our new reversed courses 4 and 3 with wind from South West and 25knots. The weather conditions were smooth, only Amy got disconnected in second race.
And some good news: The seagulls have lost their power and are now phantom chicken!!!
The start saw two sailors awake at the right time and 3 who were still a little sleepy. Sanja and Amy started nearly perfect. Ella, Lucy and me followed after we switched off the alarm clock too late and followed the two leaders.
Sanja with the better line and speed at the start took sailed safely in front of Amy. The sleepy 3 starters followed them close together.
The first two were safe after the start and both Sanja and Amy didn’t do any mistakes and finished in this order. Behind them Ella caught up with me and passed me at buoy CN when i got stuck there with my too fat butt. Lucy caught up with me and said that she had filmed my butt there. So come back later again and watch her video.
After this i tried to keep Lucy behind me and to catch up with Ella again. I could do that inch by inch on the final leg. We sailed most of the final leg side by side and i could pass her on the finish line just by a blink.
Lucy could manage to wake up for the second start and started parallel with Sanja and Amy this time. Ella and me were probably still tired after our final leg duel in race 1 and still napping. We started as sleepy as in race 1.
The first leg looked like in the first race Sanja in front and chased by Amy. Lucy, Ella and me behind them close together again.
Amy crashed a little later unfortunately, i could pass Lucy and a little later Ella and caught up slowly with Sanja.
From now on we had two close duels. I nearly caught up with Sanja at buoy OW but hit a little later a cross and my avi froze. I was really sure i was far enough away of the cross, but sl didn’t agree. Until i got used to this strange look at my avi Sanja sailed a bit away from me, but later at buoy CS she got stuck with her butt at the buoy and gave me the chance to catch up again. I tried all with my frozen avi and i could come a little closer, but couldn’t catch her anymore.
Behind us Ella and Lucy were having a duel from buoy CN during the rest of the race until the finish. It wasn’t clear most of the time who will win this duel. But in the end Ella did.
Congrats to Sanja for her two wins and all others for awesome windsurfing actions.
