Ella, Lucy, Nicci (with crew Inocene), Erin, Amy (with crew Ester), Lisa, Erica, Moon and Rugger came yesterday for our reversed course and wind from South East with 21knots.
The sims behaved actually quite well with some personal bad luck moments.
Erin got pulled off the boat before the start line and lost her USB, but could get back on her boat. After she had fixed all again she was behind the fleet and started a nice hunt.
Lisa got disconnected leading the race only a couple of sims before the final leg.
It happens lately randomly that when sailors get pulled off the boat the boat will be returned in the next second. The sims have an auto return of 10 min or more but the boat still gets returned without a warning. Here it happens to Erica, who was in her first race far behind the fleet but wanted to finish. Shame SL didn’t give her the chance to.
Lucy, Nicci, Moon won the start at the north end of the line. Rugger and Erin started in the middle just a little later while Lisa and Amy took the southern end of the line a little later as well. Ella had a little more sleepy start and Erica in her first race was at the end. We will show her how to start better soon.
Lisa used the better angle to buoy CS to pass Rugger, Moon and Nicci and turned second around it after the leading Lucy.
Lisa could pass Lucy on the leg to buoy CN and Ella could pass Erin and Rugger.
The fast legs to buoy IS, IN and OW didn’t change the positions. But on the long upwind and reach leg to buoy ON happened a lot interesting and exciting duels. Moon pulled Lucy into a hard leeward duel and Lucy couldn’t escape that. Moon won this duel against Lucy, but he slowed both down very much and Ella waved at the two, when she passed them relaxed with a smile. Even Rugger was catching up a lot.
Amy passed Nicci, but then she did an extra tack to the south and hoped to get a better angle to use the code earlier. But she sailed a lot more way than she could get back with a little more speed and lost her position against Nicci again.
Moon tried hard to pass Ella again on the way to buoy OE via buoy CN. But Ella could manage to stay in front of Moon.
On the downwind leg to buoy CS Moon used the wind shadow and passed Ella and kept his lead on the final leg to the finish line as well.
During this time Lisa got disconnected and fell out of the race.
If you wonder why i don’t have a picture of Erica. She was sailing in her first race with us very much behind the fleet and i couldn’t wait for her at the buoys without missing too much of the race. I hoped to catch her for her finish picture, but as explained before SL didn’t let me make one of her.
Congrats to Moon for his win and to all for fair and exciting duels.
