Windsurfing Race Day 28 with Sea Boss Rider at Saint Aubrey yesterday

Sanja, Ella, Lucy, Izi, Amy, Ester and Justin came out yesterday to join me on our reversed courses 1 and 2 with south wind and 25 knots. Bright sunny weather for all in both races.
Only Hakiria seemed to have issues with the Gyazo server or with her connection. She crashed after her third video and couldn’t start Gyazo properly again. Thats why we don’t have many videos today.

Izi and Sanja started first and parallel followed by Ester, Ella, Lucy and me a little later, but within 2sec. Only Amy and Justin were a bit late at the start. Justin is still trying to find the right timing at the start on his second race day with us. But he will improve soon.

The whole race saw two close groups. Izi, Sanja and me in the front and mostly within 5sec. Behind us Lucy, Ester, Ella and Amy made the second group and they were all racing within 10sec mostly. And at the end Justin following us bravely. He tested in the second lap the water temperature unfortunately, but finished.

As an example for the close duels see Izi, Sanja and me on the final leg in lap 2.

I am sorry we don’t have finish pictures this time. See the results of both races further down.

The start of the second race was a little more spread out. Ella, Sanja and me won it and the others followed this time with a bit more delay. Izi messed up her start and ran into Ester. I didn’t see that, but she was fair enough to do a 360° later for that.
Sanja, Ella and me reached first buoy OE first and after the turn Ella tried to pass me on the wind side, but after a little mistake she went swimming and fell back. Izi caught up with her and the two had an exciting duel until Izi did her 360.
On the leg to buoy OE Lucy passed Justin like a buoy and she caught up later more and more with Ella. The two ended up on the finish line with the same time. She did a nice YouTube video of that:

I tried my very best to catch Sanja, but she didn’t go swimming this time and defended her lead until the finish line.

Izi, Amy and Justin followed after their exciting threesome on the course a bit later. And this time Ester came in last. Well sorry again for no finish pictures this time and see the results further down.

Congrats to Izi and Sanja for their wins in race 1 and 2 and all the others for exciting race actions again.

Sanja has reached now the maximum number of 55 races for the result list. Lucy will follow her with that very soon. That means i will only count the 55 best results.

    • the video is great… it shows the dynamic, the different speeds of the sailors even on this quite easy high speed course and it shows the different turns around the buoy… no reason to excuse for something… i love it

  1. Thanks Lucy… I agree with B. An exciting race, and it’s good to see some of it from another’s viewpoint! You can see that Sanja’s close approach to the first buoy allowed me to make an earlier turn inside her, and I could jump ahead. The finish was a lot closer than I thought.
