Oh Noes! Pleeez not! :o

Now look at this shit:

Yeah, I love EndeavourOS and I’m not too fond of Ubuntu-based distros buuut … just a bit over 100 HPDs are missing for EOS to pass the mighty Mint! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ That’s undeserved. MX is stupid for non-geeks, as is Endeavour. Manjaro and Mint are the complete carefree and easy to grasp distros for untechy housewifes and pensioners. They’ve earned their positions high up in the chart. They have that sort of mass appeal freaky systems like MX and EOS don’t even strive for.

And right now, at this very moment in time, just days after Mint came out with a new version, 20.2, they should be flying high! But instead they’re trending downwards, making it easy for EOS to pass them. :/

Again: I love Endeavour. But I’m kinda freak, not a desired user. I guess there is no doubt about Mint and Manjaro being the best computer operating systems in the world. MX, EOS and all the other distros are DIY projects fresh out of daddy’s mancave, primitive woodwork shops in comparison.

I wouldn’t mind toppling MX and kicking it off the throne. But I’d prefer to do so in Manjo and Mint’s windshadow. Not by kicking those, too. My not-so-secret wishlist for the Top 4 would be

#1 Mint

#2 Manjaro

#3 Sparky (not MX, for reasons)

#4 EndeavourOS.

Instead of Sparky we could also have LMDE at #3 but LMDE isn’t listed as a distro by itself but is just a flavour of Mint. I dunno why Sparky receives so little attention by the press and YouTube, it’s a super distro with not enough support by the Linux community, recently dwelling on #31. Anyhoo, that makes 2 Debian/Ubuntu-based and 2 Arch-based distros in the Top 4. We have 2 complete and 2 slightly geekish systems. As it should be. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Thank you Tom.
You know I made it just for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

No, I really think it makes sense. At least for the desktop. Debian/*buntu and Arch, 2 distros each. 1 for geeks, 1 for normies. Everything else is nonsense. Right?
