Race Day 26 with Bandit 22LTE at Saint Aubrey

The starting summer holidays and the first half final of the European soccer championship kept some racers in RL. Amy (with her crew Ester), Lucy, Ella, Erin, Moon and Juicy came out yesterday for our normal course and wind from south east. The weather was fine and only Juicy hit a cross and lost his boat.

Ella and Lucy made the best start followed by Moon, Amy, Erin and Juicy. Ella and Lucy took the lead to buoy CS.

At buoy CS we Moon caught up with Ella and Lucy and the 3 had an exciting upwind duel to buoy OE. Behind them Erin, Amy and Juicy sailed close together.

With a better turn around buoy OE and a quicker sail change Ella could pass Lucy again and took the lead on the following downwind leg.

After the turn around buoy CN Lucy chose first the wrong foresail and Moon could pass her. Ella was still nicely in the lead. Erin had the same issues as Lucy and Amy could pass her easily.

At buoy OE Ella was a bit too fast with her turn around the buoy and missed it. She had to sail back and go around properly. But with that she fell back behind Amy and started her chase.
Moon took now the lead and was chased by Lucy and Amy. Juicy hit a cross and lost his boat.

On the upwind legs to buoy IN and IS the first 3 got closer together and Moon had to fight hard to keep the three hot Ladies behind him.

On the upwind leg to buoy CN Lucy could pass Amy again. But after buoy CN Amy chose the right foresail earlier, accelerated faster and could pass Lucy again.

After the last position change they could all defend their position to the finish line.

The finish: 1. Moon, 2. Amy, 3. Lucy, 4. Ella, 5. Erin

Congrats to Moon for his win and to all for an exciting race with lots of position changes. We went after the race again to the Tiki bar, had some drinks and snacks and discussed some tricks with the B22 for faster sailing and turning.
