We’re Saved

Just got message on our complex Whatsapp group earlier today: All staff, including the caretaker, have been sent into home quarantine. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ One of the contractors, who are busy on the premises, has been tested positive for Covid-19. And our staffers obviously had contact with him. Let’s hope none of our own people got infected.

Narrow escape from extinction: Our housing estate. ๐Ÿ˜

Oh my, now we gotta roll our own garbage bins out to the collection points. That’s like 50 meters. I dunno how I’m supposed to handle that responsiblity and the workload. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I want my money back!

    • Thank you. Full intent to do so. Gym’s closed for at least the next 2 weeks now, perfect time to get Oubaas to the mechanic and then cocoon ourselves in at home. Groceries delivery werkz like a dream so we’ll never have to leave the house again. If I just didn’t have such itchy boots I could stay here forever. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You’re already vaccinated … take care nevertheless.

        • I can’t even imagine … for multiple reasons. Not a barfly in the first place, and we’re so conditioned by now that going maskless anywhere feels weird. It’s like “Oooph, forgot my mask in the car. WTF is wrong with me???”

          • That’s how it was here through the winter. Even before I got vaccinated, I was becoming more forgetful about putting on a mask – so I have extras everywhere. I took one to the bar (didn’t wear one walking there – didn’t pass another pedestrian) but didn’t end up wearing it. I think that’s the 1st time I’ve been maskless with strangers since Mar 2020. Didn’t feel significant.

            • I usually have mine dangling from the indicator stalk at my steering wheel … and in 25% of all cases I forget it there when I leave the car. Now I put it in my jacket pocket … and forget it there as well. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ But at least I’m quick to rectify the situation when a security guard or panic-stricken clerk reminds me of the unfashionable state I’m in.

  1. I got the Moderna shots. I’ve done worse to myself celebrating on a Friday night lol! 4th of July night in the states going places, everyone crowding maskless, not a care in the world. I was in and out just getting supplies. Used hand sanitizer still. I do admit, it still feels weird not wearing the mask. But it is so much nicer to be able to see people’s facial expressions again. Almost feels normal.

    • I never have hand sanitizer at my person. We getting spritzed when we enter any store by security guards … if we want or not. The other day in our local mall my hands were sanitized 3 times inside of 3 minutes. I was just waiting for them to queue up in front of me to get an option to spritz that good stuff on me. People here are silly. And since the beginning of lockdown my hands have gotten sooo soft and tender.
For a week or so, during the early phase of lockdown, I had a small 100cc bottle of sanitizer on the dashboard of my van. That thing just melted away, unused. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
