Race Day 20 with Bandit 22LTE at Saint Aubrey

Nearly all our race area sims were restarted yesterday and i hoped it will be as smooth as on last Thursday.
Lucy, Amy, Erin, Nicci, Ella, Lisa, Reni, Moon and Rugger came yesterday for out normal course and wind from North West with 21 knots.
Lisa crashed once, came back, found her boat again and continued 4 minutes later, Reni crashed twice, came back after the first crash and continued, but gave up then after the second crash.
Both were leading the race in the moment they crashed first time. That was really bad luck for them. All others finished without bigger issues.

Reni was a little too early at the start, but lucky that the other were a little late and so she could save her start by going parallel to the line safely and start at 00:00, followed by Lisa, Erin and Lucy only a little later. Amy, Moon, Rugger and Nicci chose the very northern end of the line to cross it. It is the fastest line, but risky. We had already races someone missed the line there.

Lisa with a nearly perfect start and the fast line took the lead and was chased by the others on the first leg to buoy CS.

After buoy CS Moon chose the better line for the following downwind leg and passed Rugger.

Between buoy CS and OE some pairs found together and had some exciting duels on the next leg.

The different choices of the routes on the upwind leg change the positions a bit and mixed the couples a bit.

On the way to buoy OW the dramas started. First Lisa told us she crashed leading the race by 10-15sec. It took her 4 min to come back, to find her boat and to continue.
Reni was the leading the race now and what a shame she told us she crashed as well. She didn’t need that much time to continue, but fell back to the last place.
Lisa continued and fell back behind Reni.

The rest of the fleet took again different routes on the upwind leg to buoy OW (dont worry Rugger landed safely again).

At this time of the race Amy was leading followed close by Moon.

Lucy chose the better line to buoy OW and reached it with more speed than Moon.

Now came the time of Moon and he started his turbo. On the downwind legs to buoy IN and IS he used the windshadow perfectly to pass first Lucy and then Amy and took the lead in the race. On the downwind leg to buoy CN Lucy passed Amy with the same tactic.

Shame that the nice comeback of Reni after her first crash had no happy end. On the leg to CS she crashed again and gave up.

I dont think i have to say much more about this exciting race and the bad luck of Reni and Lisa. You can watch Hakiria’s awesome videos.
But one thing i have to say. We enjoyed in the past always the awesome videos made by Hakiria.
But yesterday she made her best ones ever and because of that she is my hero of the day. Thank you very much for those Haki.
