Windsurfing Race Day 19 with Sea Boss Rider at Saint Aubrey

Lucy, Izi, Sanja, Ella, Amy, Ester and Elfie (alt of Alya) joined me yesterday in our windsurfing races on our reversed courses 1 and 2 with wind from the North and 25knots. We had only one heavy rain shower in my area and the result was my disconnect in second race while i was in the lead. Bad luck for me.

the fleet waiting for the start

Amy, Izi, Sanja, Lucy and Ella started with full speed very close together (only 6sec between Amy and Ella). I saw i will get too early to the line and did a circle quite early and followed then with some distance. Behind me Ester and Elfie followed a little later.

short after the start of first race: Izi already out of my sight and Sanja, Ella and Lucy in chasing range

Izi used her great start best, switched on her turbo and was seen next time sitting already on her boat at the finish line. Behind her I tried to catch up with the girls in front of me. But i could only pass Lucy on the course and Ella on the finish line.
I am so proud of all these girls. They meet during the week randomly on the courses, practice together, give each others tips and they all improved so much in the last weeks and months that the races become more and more exciting and the duels a lot closer. Every little mistake now can let you fall back 2 or 3 positions and a test of water temperature even more.
Elfie and Ester had a quite close battle on the course and Elfie tried to use her leeward ROW to pass Ester. Ester didnt understand this rule fully and got very angry. Elfie felt bad about that and watched the second race afterwards from our new spectators tower.
And again i can be proud of this group, we talked about this after the second race, had a beer together and some hugs and all was solved in peace.
Thats why i make my hero of the day the whole group.

I was in the middle of all trying my best to catch up and so i couldnt take any finishing pictures of the first race.
Congrats to Izi for her awesome win and to Sanja 2., Ella 3., Lucy 4., Amy 5., Ester 6. and Elfie 7.

In second race Izi, Sanja, Ester, Lucy and me started again with full speed within 7sec, Amy and Ella followed only a little later and we all stayed very close together on the first leg to buoy OE:

the 5 musketeers from my point of view

Even with this speed junkies group so close together the turns around buoy OE went without accidents. Sanja made a mistake after the buoy, tested the water temperature and fell back to 5th position. Lucy and i could pass Ella and Izi on the following upwind leg and took the lead. Behind us Sanja caught up with Izi again and they had then a really close duel into the finish (same race time: 16:25min) with an advantage for Izi of just a blink.
Behind them Amy and Ella started the second duel and continued that into the finish with only 4sec difference between the two.
Ester watched them all just a little behind.

Maybe you can remember the race some weeks ago when my board disappeared from my screen after a crossing for nearly most of the race and i was “sailing” bare feet. Yesterday my sl body took its revenge and disappeared from my screen. It really looks like i sit relaxed with a beer at the marina and use my TV remote control to steer it around the course or we can say i trained it well to do all alone.

my board seems to know the course alone

The crossing after the next buoy SL decided that a board without a sailor is “illegal” and disconnected me from the race.

the finish: 1. Lucy, fotofinish: 2. Izi and 3. Sanja
the next close finish: 4. Ella and 5. Amy and 6. Ester

Congrats to Lucy this time for her first win here at ST Aubrey and to all in those exciting duels.

Standing overall St AR 2021 SeaBossRider Championship (after 38 races):
Sailor-points (number of races)

The last races and the ones of yesterday approved that the group grows closer together. We get more and more different winners and i love it.

In 2 weeks we will add the new courses to our races and will add some more spices into our soup.

the new warm up course 4 with winds from NE and SW 25knots as well
the new long course 3 with wind NE and SW 25knots as well

The courses have about the same race time as our first ones. They use a bit more the whole range of windsurfing and will give all more options to try some different routes for tactics. But dont worry my fast speed junkies they have lots of high speed parts in it as well.
We will use then in normal and in reversed direction as well and use for them the winds from North East and South West with 25knots.
You all have still lots of time to practice them until we will use them first time in 2 weeks.

Stay all safe and healthy and see you all next week again on our old reversed courses with wind from the South and 25knots.

hugs and kisses
