Windsurfing Race Day 18 with Sea Boss Rider at Saint Aubrey

Sanja, Lucy, Ester, Ella, Amy and Natalie joined me yesterday for another exciting windsurfing race day on our normal course with wind from the South and 25knots. All had some of the in these days normal rough crossings with turning around up to 30°, but only Amy crashed in first race once, came back to her board, but fell back far be the fleet and finished.
Natalie joined us and tried her very first race ever on her Sea Boss Rider she seemed to have fairly new as well. I think it was very brave to try it and i hope she isn’t too frustrated now. Between all the experts she was lost quite fast and gave up. All tried to encourage and welcome her to come back during the week for help and practice and i hope she will do. We need and love brave sailors.

Sanja took the lead with her her perfect full speed start at 00:00sec followed by Ella, Lucy, me, Amy, Ester and Natalie. And from that moment the exciting chases and position changes started except one. Sanja was in the lead the whole race and didn’t let someone of us pass, no matter how hard we tried

Sanja might felt quite safe with her lead, but because she knows us better she avoided big mistakes to stay in front. Behind her Lucy and I started to catch up second by second and behind us Ella did the same with Ester, even passed her in the second lap, but Ester stroke back just on the finish line. We all kept the one in front of us on her toes and full of adrenaline.

Sanja started again best in second race followed by Lucy, me, Ester, Amy and Ella.

The second course is just not only a high speed course to warm up. It has some more variances. But after all were warmed up nicely in the first race the duels started quite early after the start and Sanja couldn’t sail away as much as she did in the first race. I kept her on her toes the whole race, while Lucy did the same with me. Ester, Amy and Ella only short behind. They changed several times positions and after around 16:30min of racing all 6 finished within nearly 30s. The fleet squeezes up more and more week after week.

The cold beer after the two hot races was gone in no time while all were still amazed about the excitement they all had and.

Congrats to Sanja for her two wins.
If the weather will like us like it did mostly yesterday in the future we can concentrate more on the main thing: “racing” and will have lots of these exciting race days. Specially when we will add in 3 weeks 2 new courses to give the “racing soup” more spices.
The new courses have been published for practice and i can only suggest: Try them and practice them.
