WTF? The great Linux security expert, and Mint user, Quidsup updated the kernel of his system … and his machine refused to boot up after the update. Looksy the widdioh:
Oh jeeezuz, now I’m soo afraid to ever run any update again, particularly kernel updates! They are fukkin’ fatal for our pomcuterz! 😮
Let’s check what Clem and his guys say about updating:
Even ultra careful Clem says: Do Your Fucking Updates!
And then, just out of curiosity, I checked my Kernel version …
Hmm, last time I checked I was still on 5.10.11. Must have updated without even noticing, just by running my regular daily updates. But then I’m just a stupid girl, a housewife, do as I’m told and never run into problems like all those – male – experts do. And let’s not forget I’m using Arch, highly risky unstable shit, not something super duper stable and beginners friendly like Linux Mint.
Can it be that maybe, just maybe, Arch isn’t half as sensitive as they all say it is? I say it since years that Arch is rock solid! And can it be that all those experts are doing their damnedest to destroy their systems by playing and experimenting all the time instead of using their PCs for their original purpose? Or are they just too lazy to update in time and waiting too long to guarantee a smooth update?
Anyhoo, just wanted to let you know that I’m on Kernel 5.11.1, obviously since two days already, and everything went super duper smoothly. 😉
Normies: No fear of trying Linux!
Minties: No fear of trying Arch!
