Race Day 6 with Bandit 22LTE at Saint Aubrey

Yesterday Adeli, Jenna, Lucy, Reni, Laured, Nicole, Erika, Balut, Rugger, Cilian, Juicy and Moon came for the course “ST AR- B22LTE – 1 – REV” with wind from South East and 21knots.

the fleet waiting for me to stop talking and to start their fun race

Thank you all for a fair and fast spin start and well done everyone.

Laured, Jenna, Balut, Lucy, Adeli and Juicy started fair and fast within 6sec

and here with the full start video:

It seemed as if Moon and Erika got disconnected at the last crossing before the start line. Moon just passed the line on the north side and see his boat there without him. Erika did same on the south side of the line, but came back and started behind the fleet. Unfortunately she crashed some times later in the race as Juicy did as well.

The rest of the fleet speeding with full speed and spin to the first buoy and turning to buoy CN.

Adeli turned first followed by Balut, Laured, Lucy and Juicy

On the reach leg to buoy CN Jenna caught up very nicely and passed Balut, Laured, Lucy and Juicy to catch up close with leading Adeli.

The long downwind part passing buoy IS and IN to OW the Adeli and Jenna had a very exciting high speed duell for the lead and Adeli could manage to keep Jenna close behind her.

Behind the two first leading “fighters” Laured, Balut and Lucy changed their positions on the way to buoy OW.

followed by Laured, Lucy and Balut who changed positions on the highspeed part
Reni, Rugger and Cilian followed the first group a little later at buoy OW
and Nicole at the end

Somewhere on the way to buoy OW we must have lost Juicy and Erika unfortunately.
The following upwind Jenna caught up very close with Adeli and the two were sailing parallel for quite a bit. The sailors chose different routes for that upwind and there came the moment they crossed their lines.

the two routes meet in the middle of the upwind legs
Jenna finally passed Adeli at the end of the long upwind leg before they turned north east to buoy ON

Adeli found a better line with code to buoy ON and passed Jenna again. Lucy caught up on the same leg with Jenna and passed her before buoy ON.

and Nicole

Jenna passed Lucy again and turned second after Adeli to start the last downwind leg to buoy CS

Balut following now Jenna and chased by Lucy and Reni (a bit in the back) started to chase Lucy
Laured, Rugger and Cilian follwed
and Nicole started to chase Cilian
Jenna, Balut and Lucy following Adeli very close together before the final upwind leg to the finish line

Rugger starts his final upwind leg
followed by Cilian and Nicole

Adeli tacked after CS later and could finish without an extra tack as Balut and Lucy did. Jenna tacked a bit too early and had to tack short before the finish line again, but could still manage to stay in front of Balut and Lucy.

Adeli finished 1st, Jenna 2nd, Balut 3rd and Lucy 4th (video by Hakiria)
Balut and Lucy with their photofinish
Reni finished 5th, Laured 6th, Rugger 7th, Cilian 8th and Nicole 9th (video by Hakiria)

Maybe 100m more and Nicole would have passed Cilian and Rugger on her great chase in the last quarter of the race.

I saw a really awesome and exciting race with lots of duells and even more position changes and to be honest i was really glad i had all the pictures and little videos to remember all of that.

  1. “Somewhere on the way to buoy OW we must have lost Juicy and Erika unfortunately.”

Since the rest of the fleet obviously didn’t have any problems we put that down to client-side “crash”. People, I can’t stress this enough: You’re not beggars, don’t allow your ISP to make you feel like one! You’re valued, paying clients ffs! So, call your ISP’s hotline and harrass them for better service.

Smackface Ajit Pai isn’t at the helm of the FCC anymore, so with your new pres you should hopefully get a better, more customerfriendly guy there. Threaten your ISP with alarming the FCC if they won’t deliver better service soon.

Apart from that you know the old trick: Don’t connect wirelessly – plug in!
