The weather conditions were little cloudy for 14 sailors and shame 4 got lost in their personal storm.
Viv, Adeli, Lucy, Reni, Jenna, Nicci, Nicole, Laured, Sea, Cate, Moon, Balut, Cilian, and Rugger came out for our B22 race on the course St AR – B22 – 1 – REV with 21knots wind from north east.

The start was here and there a little bumpy because of the number of boats and because some were a little too optimistic with their prestart timing, but nothing really to worry about.
The fleet kept mainly close together and was very fast on the first half of the course. Hard to take many pictures.

Somewhere on the upwind leg Viv passed Moon and took the lead
and Reni passed Jenna and arrived 4th at buoy ON

Adeli fell back after she hit a 4-way-cross and needed time to get back on the boat. It didnt take long and she caught up with the fleet again and was already back at 6th place at buoy ON.

Laured had her first crash on the long upwind and fell back a lot as well until she later crashed a second time and couldnt come back.

The finish part one: congrats to our winner Viv, followed by Moon (2nd), Lucy (3rd), Reni (4th), Jenna (5th) and Adeli (6th). The little duell between Nicci and Nicole ended in a photofinish with the better end for Nicci
The little duell between Nicci and Nicole ended in a photofinish with the better end for Nicci
And here is the full finish part two with Nicci (7th), Nicole (8th), Balut (9th ) and Cilian (10th)
We lost Rugger, Sea, Cate and Laured after crashes during the race. Shame they couldnt see the finishline after a cool and exciting race.

14 boats in a one class race. Awesome, but we slowly reach the limit and that caused 4 crashes. Shame only 10 could finish and 4 couldnt. Lets hope for next time ALL will finish.
Stay all safe and healthy and hope to see you all back next week for another exciting B22 event at Saint Aubrey.
hugs and kisses

“14 sailors and shame 4 got lost”
Fuk ’em, who needs these 4 problem kidz? They were probably communist insurgents anyway.

But honestly now: Can your startline do staggered starts? So you can split the field into 2 groups, starting with 3, 5, 10 or more minutes time offset. The difference must be large enough so the groups don’t get into contact on the course but not so long the second group starts getting bored while waiting for their start. 1 – 2 sims in between the last of the first and the leader of the second group would be ideal.
Just an idea.

one of the most exciting things with the B22 is that it is a great boat for close fleets and its the real fun to fight with 1-2-3-4 others. So spitting the race would reduce this fun and i think we wont have every week so many racers…10-12 average is a perfect number
