Corona Diary: Day 305

Here we are, hubby and me staying home for the whole weekend, not setting a single foot outside the premises. Saving mankind by inactivity. Just as our great and infallable leaders told us to do since basically day one of the locky downy. Aren’t we the greatest heros EVAAARRRRR??? No, we aren’t. I bet you’re doing the same, doing the right thing … right?

So we all are the greatest heros ever! Saving ourselves from extinction and the awkwardness of looking like a dork as the single unmasked person at your local grocers.

I hope you’re indeed still with the program and not joining useless mass gatherings like family celebrations, religious mass gatherings, sweaty nightclubs, mass transportation and all that stuff where you meet other pesky hoomans.

Let’s see what all those pesky humans outside of our comfy and save little blog-bubble are on about …

That’s all not too good news but also nothing new, right? Politicians are failing their jobs completely, stupid voters still believing in their hollow phrases, futile plans are made, general cluelessness. But you had to fire Dr. Fauci, you won’t believe in the expert’s expertise, shamans and populists are cashing in on our common stupidity.

Soon … but probably still much too late for many. 😦

They are speaking English?

I don’t need to show you the actual numbers, right? Infections are skyrocketing now in the second – or is it already the third – wave, graveyards are filling up and you better hurry with the dying business if you still wanna get a cozy little shadowy place for your urn.

Sorry for sounding so pessimistic today but we really gotta face the music guys. COVID-19 is real! It’s absolutely fatal, not only for frail old people but for the young and fit as well. Even for me! Shriek!!! 😮 I know, hard to believe, right? So, even on day 305 Imma stay at home, avoid any risky bizniz and rather enjoy life from behind my keyboard than actual life itself. 😐

I hope you guys are acting responsibly, only leave your bunker for necessities (as my visit to the gym tomorrow morning) and spend your days installing new Linux distros, watching The Expanse, and our new fave series Counterpart.

It’s a bit slow but has a cold, eerie atmosphere and features the great J.K. Simmons who’s always worth a watch. And Berlin, love it or hate it, was and is always a good location for all kinds of intriguing spy stories and crossovers into other systems. Only this time it’s not the Soviets but a parallel universe on the other side! Oooooooooh! 🙂

You kidz behave, ok?

CYA laterz

xoxo

PS: 3rd wave already? Time for a new mask methinks!

Orca really only used 4 masks in 305 days of lockdown. This can’t stand!

    • Oh noes! 😮

Neil, how do all you people manage to catch that fuxn virus? What are you not telling me about your life outside the blog? Are you meeting other people? Going to parties? Church services? Forgetting to wear your mask?

And what is that lockdown for 10 days nonsense? We’re in lockdown since 306 days now, not always super strict, of course, but always with the imminent danger of infection in mind when playing outside. Later this morning I’ll go to the gym, and even in case I forget what’s going on, they’ll make sure I’m aware! Messages of awareness and behavioural rules are broadcasted every 5 minutes or so on the PA, classes have restricted numbers of attendees, both steam rooms/saunas are closed, half the shower stalls are closed, 3/4 of lockers are sealed. And during aqua gymnastics we’re 10 people spread out over two lanes, and so on.

No chance for me to catch any virus even if I tried. 🙂

And the being positive but testing negative is kinda normal. During the 3-5 days of incubation you still test negative. That is why we “healthy” peeps are wearing masks nevertheless. Neil, I could be seriously ill right now, not feeling it and going on about my daily business, infecting countless others before I succumb myself! 😮

We’re better than Leenda’s neighbours. Coz we’re practicing social distance! There are no exceptions, nobody is a special snowflake. The virus doesn’t discriminate, makes no difference between top models and fugly troglodytes, Britz and Yankz, Krautz and Ozzies, black and white, yellow or green, Commies and Fascists. You’re vaguely humanoid – you’re fair game!

      • We are working. That’s where my wife got it. I’m driving a bus. Lots of people even if you’re wearing masks and cleaning your hands. Both our places of work have a lot of cases.
Just have to hope it doesn’t kill us or leave us crippled. Stay safe Orca, it’s a nasty ass virus.

        • Didn’t know you’re a frontline worker, Neil. Just as I tell the cashiers at the supermarket, I wanna thank you, too, for keeping the word turning during these times. Whatcha driving, one of those London doubledeckers?

Tell me, did they at least put some protective plexiglass screens in between you and the passengers? And your wife, what’s she doing? Couldn’t her job be done from home?

          All the best

          • Double decker bus in Dorset. My wife is a career for an old lady with mental issues. The lady needs 24/7 care. We are both frontline, me only recently. The bus has screens but the more people the higher the risk, and I’m still handling cash.
Either way it’s rife in the UK. Annoying thing is my wife was due the vaccine a couple of days ago.
Just hoping it stays mild and we survive.

            • Your wife could be a caretaker for my hubby. He’s mostly friendly and has no known mental issues … well, other than being a man that is.
Hoping the best for the both of you and family.

    • Oooh, colour co-ordinated Corona outfits. Sexy. 😉 And some people say the virus is bad for business. 😐

Good to hear Dr. Faucus (honest typo, no pun intended) is back in bizniz. Let’s hope Biden will have a more open ear for his concerns than his predecessor.

What I am concerned about is what the virus is doing to us. We see ppl, testing positive, going to hospital and leaving a couple days later, fresh as spring chickens, while others do the same but just die. Not just the old and frail but even sports stars and kidz and shit. You’ve read Neil’s comment, he had the Covid-19 last week … he thinks. 😮

So is Covid now just like the common cold or a fuxn deadly killervirus? Can someone riddle me that, pleez?
