Race Day 27 with Bandit 25R at TrYC

Weather conditions were ok yesterday. Only Dahlia crashed after leaving Dunai area because of firestorm crash and followed after that her rl tasks rather than come back and wait the whole time for us at the TrYC dock (its a shame but very understandable). We did our B25 course with wind from South West and 18knots.

Moon, Dahlia, Yvonne, me and Lucy at the briefing

The start was quite sleepy of us all. Only Yvonne woke up a little earlier and was first at Triumphal exit. Dahlia and Moon were in a little Duell, passing buoy 1 close together. When Moon thought it is time to tack to the west he did, hit Dahlias boat and did fair as he is for this “foul” a 360°, but unfortunately after he finished his 360° we all got the crash message from Dahlia . So his “penalty” wasnt actually necessary, because he hit an uncontrolled boat. But because of that Yvonne who reached buoy 2 first and me could sail away from Moon a lot. Lucy followed Moon with a little distance.

Yvonne, Moon, Lucy and me during the start

From Buoy 2 until buoy 8 Yvonne and i had a pretty close duell again. In Dunai her boat didnt show her foresail so she didnt really know if she had Genn up or not. Her Speed seemed to be ok but while she was a bit distracted checking this i could pass her and could manage the lead until the finish line.

close Duell with Yvonne nearly the whole race
Yvonne finishes

Moon could manage to stay in front of Lucy and he did a lot better than last week with all the tips we gave him after the race last week.

Moon finishes
Lucy finishes

  1. “Moon could manage to stay in front of Lucy”

Lucy is a TrYC race director, and as such much too polite to sail as fast as she could. She lets all the guests win on purpose. 😉

    • LOL

If this was true I would be better in Francois Jacques Memorial Regatta. Oh, I had a good share of problems during but even without these I don’t think I would be much better (in the only race I had just one problem – crashing right before the line – my boat crossed the line in 4th place, 2 secs behind Moon.

    • i am a TrYC race director as well but i am not that polite… i prefer to let them work hard for their win and let them feel then a lot better when they beat me…
and second Lucy is in the TrYC Championship listed so no reason to be polite to guests…

      • I hope once my “good” gaming puter is working again you’ll let me win. At least my first race, in order to make me feel good. Of course I must never know the truth but think I’m just the bestest. 😉

          • You just said it: IF I ever get him back. :/

Having a bit better graphics won’t make me a better sailor, and with my +300 ms latency I have no chance of winning in close quarter racing. My only small chance is when I’m kinda alone on the course and don’t engage in duels. :/ And I’m sooo rusty by now, total noob like, so no panic.

And anyway, first I gotta get MiniMax back …
