Race Day 11 with Bandit 22LTE at TrYC

Yesterday we had good weather conditions and after Jenna told me on her test run that Nimitz has massive issues i asked support chat to restart it. Thank you Jenna, i reckon that helped a lot that all 9 boats finished yesterday in a very, very exciting race, which you will see on the following pictures.
Lisa, Jenna, Nicole, Lucy, Sea, Moon and for the first time Victoria, Lalia and Nicci waited relaxed for the start on our B25 Course with North West Wind and 18knots.

fleet (9 boats) at the briefing
very good timing of most at the start with spin

Lisa with a great timing at the start and one of the best positions at the line left Triumphal first with already 30m ahead of all. She sailed a perfect race from the start to the finish and this is the last picture with her and some others

Lisa (far Right) followed by Jenna, Moon, Nicole, Lalia and Lucy

I made a little video, but i dont know how to copy it into here, so i leave the link of it and if you wanna see a bit of the dynamic in this race, you will love to watch it:

Lisa alone first at the wreck
followed by Jenna, Moon, Lalia
Nicole, Sea, Lucy and Victoria
the fleet behind Lisa surrounding the Roman boat still very close
Lisa the lonly sailor at buoy 4
while the rest tried to chase her lined up on the upwind leg to buoy4
the fleet at buoy4
starting the long downwind leg to buoy5
as i already said still a perfect race of Lisa
Moon could manage to pass Jenna on the downwind leg and Lalia followed them
Victoria, Lucy, Sea and Nicole at buoy5

Her you see Nicole at position 8 and that was the moment she started her comeback.

short after buoy5 Nicole already passed Sea
Mooon, jenna, Lucy, Lalia, Sea and Victoria at buoy 6
you might miss Nicole and her Comeback,
but she chose a little more eastern upwind route to buoy 6
and could smell already her competitors
Lisa still far ahead at the wreck second time
followed by Moon, Jenna, Lucy
Sea, Lalia, Nicole and Victoria
Lisa more than one sim ahead of the rest of the fleet
Lucy cyught up with Jenna, followed by Nicole who had passed already Victoria and Sea
see the different routes to the North into Dunai area
Moon estabished firmly his second place
what else can I say about Lisa’s race what i havent said already – perfect
Moon at last buoy before the last zigzag and Nicole slowly catching now up with Lucy
Lucy could already feel Nicoles hot breathing in her neck
left: Jenna followed by Lucy and Nicole – Right: Sea followed by Lalia and Victoria

While i watched the others, Lisa finished and i missed her great Victory.

Moon finished second
Jenna third and Nicole finished after her successful comeback forth before Lucy fifth
Sea finishd sixth
Victoria seventh
Lalia eighth

I am very sorry for Nicci who i never could catch in a picture before. She sailed in her first race behind all. But she finished her first race and so she really deserved to wait for her and get her picture at the finishline

Nicci finishes her first race

I have to say that the startline got a bit confused with all boats starting so close together. But the pictures showed the ranking and i edited the following result manually:

Standing overall TrYC 2020 B22LTE Championchip (after 11 races):
Sailor – points – number of races
Moon – 72 – 11
Lisa – 65 – 8
Jenna – 59 – 11

Lucy – 38 – 11

Julie – 13 – 5
Joris – 8 – 1
Magalie 6 – 4
Isa – 5 – 2
Victoria – 3 – 1

Lalia – 2 – 1
Dream – 1 – 1
Viv – 1 – 1
Meireles – 1 – 1
Cilian – 1 – 1
Hwem – 1 – 1
Nicci – 1 – 1

The race had one perfect leader Lisa, lonely and far ahead, but behind her a lot of exciting Duells and Position changes. Moon and Jenna with the better end for Moon and an awesome comeback of Nicole from rank 8 to 4. We saw 3 new Racers in our race as well: Victoria, Lalia and Nicci and all did well on her first time on this long course.

Despite these exciting duells I saw only a little hit of Sea at buoy 4 on Nicole and a little too early tack of Jenna in front of Lucy (tacking North into Duanai area), which forced her to do a little turn around Jenna’s back. Both will be more carefully next time and appologised for this.
It didnt have much influence for the race or the rankings and so i decided not to give any penalties.

Stay all safe and healthy, have fun and a great week and hope to see you all again next week

hugs and kisses
Bianca

        • Mine is the free account as well, and as a Linux user I have only the screenshot capture tool (video capture is only for windows or mac). Anyway I can copy your video URL:

(in Portuguese: “Copiar endereço do video” = “copy video URL”)

Maybe the browser? I’m using Firefox.

P.S. but the stupid gyazo are ever saying me that with premium account I can have loger gifs, even if not giving me the tool for any video 😛

          • i use Internet Explorer. Strange is i get the copy-option with photos, but not with videos. I will try Firefox, specially for this… lets see if that works… but videos Need the right Situation and then the right timing…

and to be honest dont believe i did that on purpose…it happened accidentically because i clicked the wrong gyazo button…Pssssssst dont tell anyyone…. hahahaha

  1. “i decided not to give any penalties.”
    That’s the way!
When both racers are solving their problem like gentleladies why come down on them with the full force of the law?

    Kool widdioh btw. 🙂

    • I did a revenge foul on Sea hitting her, is this gentleladylike :-)?
Ok honestly I think we trade hits back and forth – corrections might only be needed when such a hit really changes the story completely. And usually then, its not the penalty solving the problem :-).

      • yes the penalty is not the perfect solution in that situations, the “victim” was already slowed down by the “accident”, the “culprit” will be slowed down as well and the rest of the fleet sails on.
It should correct only the rankings of the two, if the “accident” has changed it before. But mostly it slows down both too much and some more sailors pass the two.

Someone has made these rules, the world accepts them. The “referee” interpretates them, decides and the sailors accept it without any further discussions (i know that happens only in paradise… hahaha).

  2. Wow, Lisa did amazing, and now I get to see all that i missed trailing the field by minutes. Yes that was me in last place but i had a whale of a time 🙂 Eventually I hope to learn the ropes and maybe come in second to last. TY again Bianca and TrYC!
