We had quite normal weather conditions yesterday. Lucy, Nicole and Lalia (for the first time) joined me in our races. Lisa was watching our races and loved it. Wonder how fast she will learn it and when she will join us. The wind came from the South yesterday and blew with 21knots.
Nicole crashed before start in second race, Lalia froze because of script errors in first race but finished and i got disconnected right after the finish of second race like i do in about 60% of the races when i enter Triumphal from the North.
Lucy and Lalia made a good start in first race, i was just a little overearly and went around start buoy again, while Nicole struggled a bit with her start. Nicole chased Lalia and passed her in the middle of the race and i chased Lucy and passed her at the last buoy. Lucy finished very close after me and the time was too short to catch her finish in a picture.
Lalia finished with her frozen avi (see first pic) which isnt easy when you can watch only the sail while the avi stands still in one position always on the same side. Well done Lalia.
The second race is quick told. Nicole crashed before she could start. I could manage a great start and sailed ahead the whole race. Lalia started a bit before Lucy and could stay in her second race with us the whole time this little in front of Lucy who tried a lot to catch up. Exciting duell between the two and congrats Lalia. Unfortunately after i crossed the finishline i got disconnected and when i came back Lalia and Lucy had already finished. So i couldnt get their finishing pictures.

The race yesterday was a bit more silent than normal. Some of our Racers were caught in rl, thats why we were only 4.
And that was the reason why my mind could wander around during the race and found a great idea. Some of you might remember a long distance race Championship in the past. Why not having that again.? Have a race for One Design 65, Volvo 70, Wildwind OP60 and RC44. The race could last around 50-60min and could be done in both directions with different winds every week,. We could use the North Sea handicap system, which they think it is perfect and i have a free timeslot at TrYC on Wednesday around 1PM SLT. That sounds as a very good idea for me. What do you think?
What? You think that isnt fair or nice because at that time is already a race at North Sea which is organised already for years?
Yes you are right, that isnt fair and nice
Do you really wanna tell me of historical gentlemen agreements that we wont add new races at timeslots of other races?
Yes thank you for that and i will respect those
Do you really ask me why i change into an egositic and ignorant race organiser, who changes own rules to her own advantage, looks only on her statistics and doesnt care about what the sailors desire?
Dont worry i wont
There already others who fullfill this job at its best. The persons in power of North Sea moved a race for IF/Star Class/Bandit 22LTE to Thursday 1PM SLT, just 30min before our race start. They use the most common boats we have at the moment, put them into one race and let them race in classes (probably because of the not working handicap System).
I could tell you a lot about how silly it is to have more than 10-12 boats of different classes in a limited startsim and what that means for the sailors. But thats is something for another day.
I just take their unfair, egoistic, ignorant and godlike behavior and attitude as a compliment for my work at TrYC.
stay all safe and healthy
hugs and kisses
