1. I’m actually a little shocked by the visa news because we’ve had sooooo many H1 visa workers from India but Cheeto changed the rules so they can’t work here anymore. I thought it might free up some work for me (my specialty is frequently filled by H1 visa workers) but C19 killed that.

      • When people used to be too ‘Mericuh proud for me, I would point out that out country is only a couple hundred years old while most others have thousands of years of history. It was/is stupid to think the US will never face more civil wars.

        • Countries, no matter how old on paper, do reinvent themselves.

All the time. Even old and established European and Asian countries don’t stay the same. France invented itself completely new during the French revolution, Germany, Austria, Italy and Japan were remade in 1945. Russia fought itself into a new Communist system in 1918 – 1920-ish. And is now a totally capitalist democracy of the social democratic ilk. A lot of small Balkan nations were bundled up into Yugoslavia after WW2 and were broken apart in the 90s. China saw many changeovers and is now a rather well-functioning direct democracy with a strong economy and super duper rich and … ruled by a pragmatic Commie party. Very weird. But werkz quite well. And every Chinese citizen has more say in political decisions than we olde democrats in The West wouldn’t dare dreaming about.

We’re all totally different from all that was before.

In so far is America the longest continuously running country without any major changes. Oh, and of course its bitch, the mighty Atlantician kingdom, the UK. ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe it’s time for these two to be stirred up a little? ๐Ÿ˜‰

            • Yes, of course. But your gvt will tell you all is OK, and when the first unrest breaks out it will be silenced by police and national guard, as we see happening it right now. But now it’s just about BLM. There won’t be anything happen … until the emergency will be so bad you’ll finally have a real revolution. Still, it’s nothing to do with your country’s young age. Your structures are very old compared to almost every other country on the planet.

And Americans, sorry to say, suck at revolutioning. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Germans may have an old culture but at the times of Beethoven, Goethe and Schiller, the most famous Germans, there was no country called Deutschland in existence and they were ruled over by some local dukes and little kings.
