Ahoy sailors! … and landlubbers.
The Triumphal Yacht Club, TrYC will have the honour to be hosting the SLSA Hotlaps for the next three weeks. That’s really nice, particularly since TrYC’s anniversary falls into the time of the Hotlaps.
I have no idea if any festivities are planned for the birthday. It’s the 11th, so no special anniversary or sumfink. I guess it will be just ignored, which is fine by me.
Anyhoo, the Hotlaps. If you’re new to Second Life, Sailing in SL, or both; the Hotlaps are an ongoing event, held since many years at various yacht clubs and private marinas, and works a bit kinda like a rallye. Competitors log into the system, get the racewind and sail a prescribed course. The course will be changed every week, so you get the chance to sail 3 courses during the Hotlap’s stayover at Triumphal. You’ll be sailing not against other sailors but against the clock. The choice of boat is free. So grab your favourite sled and race against the devil! After the finish your time will be recorded and goes into a database. And up on the whiteboard! For everybody to see. 🙂
I guess you can do the course – the course! Not Bianca and/or Lucy, not without their express permission! – as often as you fancy and with every SLSA permitted
raceable boat. The Hotlaps are a cool way to practice your speed-racing skills any time you feel like it, and you don’t have to wait for a race date and other sailors. Just come and race! Easy peasy.
And hey, if you’re not into sailing (Why? What went wrong in your life?), at least come, have a chat with our sexy race directrices and competitors. Be a bikini bimbo, cheer them on and grab a beer and some free Hotlaps garb. 🙂
