Race Day 4A with Bandit 22LTE at TrYC

Yesterday i had the luck to host a real, real exciting race. We had 7 boats. Lucy, Nicole, Jenna, Porter, Julie, Sea and Moon met at TrYC to race our Bandit 25R Course with 18knots wind from NorthEast.

The fleet at the briefing before the start

The weather conditions were sometimes a little rough, but after i let a sim restart again and checked it this time all boats finished. Only Julie had some bad luck with her boat which reacted after an early crossing very weird with lots of script errors and didnt let her sail her normal speed.
I saw several times boats flying through the air and was always worried to loose one in a crash, but fortunately all landed again. The boats were too fast for my rezzing speed today which means i could do only a couple of pictures with fully rezzed boats on it.

But now back to this exciting race. The fleet started quite close together with spin and made their fast way to buoy 2.

Buoy 2 saw Jenna first followed close by Nicole and Porter
Lucy, Sea and Julie (already with script Errors) followed

The fleet started the first upwind and the excitement started slowly. From now on the positions changed nearly on every leg or at the turns at the buoys. Next couple of legs i could see only parts of the boats unfortunately. But i can tell you i saw many exciting duells, different strategies and passing maneuvers and always someone else leading the race at next buoy.

The way to buo 5 the sailors took different routes and passed each others all the time. After the tack at buoy 5 and passing the little shallows and the granite seagulls before buoy 6 the fleet started the long fast leg back to Dunai area. Some last exciting position changes happened until the fleet reached Dunai area and from now on Moon stayed in the lead in front of Jenna, Porter and Nicole.

After about 29min of exciting racing the first 4 finished the race within 26sec.

Where was our south african couch potatoe Orca again?

Well to all the ones who will have holidays in next weeks. please enjoy them best and stay safe, come back recovered afterwards and join us again in this exciting race. For the ones who will be still here, be sure i will be here as well and keep this race running.

    • Naw, I’m not, dear Rumor. According to my loving hubby, for him I’m even TOO REAL! 😮

But it’s true. I was vegetating on the couch while all y’all raced your little hearts out. Actually I’ve not even been inworld at all during the last couple weeks and decided to wait until I get my good gaming PC back from the repair lesbian and can play in SL with confidence and power. I called her today and she admitted that she didn’t even get around to put my machine on her workdesk yet. You must know Cape Town is a bit of a nirvana for hippies and slackers. That’s why we love it so much.

But I will attend the races one day. Oh yes, I will …
