We had yesterday the best weather conditions since weeks on our Course Bandit 25R TrYC with wind from South East and 18knots.
Lucy, Adeli, Porter, Julie, Jenna, Emileigh, Moon, Sea, Isa and Lisa prepared for another exciting race.

After they finished all the first upwind leg, surrounded the wreck and Roman boat they went on the first really colorful downwind. Butifull to see all the colorful spins coming nearer and preparing for the Long upwind leg

Isa was the only one who chose the South route

The others went on the North Route. But to reach the next buoy they had to tack at least twice more.
Some of the “Northern” Group tacked earlier and the rest later.

The different strategies met in the middle and boats from the North passed boats from the west and nearly all passed each others by 1-3m. Only the unlucky Jenna was 3m to slow and forced Emileigh to change her course to avoid to hit Jenna. Jenna got a Penalty 360° for it.
After this long, exciting and tiring upwind part they went on the Long Spin part.

Entering the Dunai area

The end of the last long Spin part: the first ones are already on the final upwind zigzag while the rest of the fleet arrived at the buoy one after another

And all on the final upwind zigzag

You can still see most boats were close together. The Overall racetime was 29-31min and there ewas only 1min difference between the 2nd and the 9th and we had even 5 boats (rank 4 to 8) within 19sec. This is what i call a close and exciting race.

I had to set Isa who sailed really well to the last place because she passed the first buoy on the wrong side.
There is a new procedure for the ranking. The 14 best races (best points) will be added. If there are less than 14 races it is just the summary of the points.
Standing overall TrYC 2020 B22LTE Championchip (after 2 races):
Sailor – points – number of races
Porter – 27 – 2
Nicole – 14 – 2
Moon – 13 – 2
Emileigh -13 – 2
Jenna – 13 – 2
Adeli – 13 – 2
Lisa – 12 – 2
Joris – 8 – 1
Lucy – 8 – 2
Sea – 4 – 2
Julie – 4 – 2
Dream – 1 – 1
Isa – 1 – 1
The Overall Standing Looks as close as the two races were so far. Porter won both and looks far in the lead, but behind her is the close Group of hunters. It will be very interesting to see how this will continue in the next weeks.

Congratz Potty for the win, and the rest of the fleet for such a tight race. Half an hour race and all finished inside one minute, that’s a tight fleet, high quality sailing by everybody.
Will not be easy to break into the ranks when and if I finally manage to join you guys … next Tues.

“get your lazy bum off the sofa”
Aaaaw, do I have to?
It’s so nice and warm on the sofa. I just got up a minute ago and already missing it and can’t wait to tuck myself in again.

And, see, Potty, not even the great Liv sailed with you. Of course as a Fizzer TrYC Bandit races are too fast and too much fun for her, and not technical enough. 😉 And all the Dutchy sailors, Liv, Joro, Moth, Korobase et al, never accepted TrYC as a serious sports club in the first place. 😮

if people who ever they are or were in the sl sailing and racing scene dont join our race because of some weird reasons they think they have… well… sad for them, because its their loss not ours…

I’ll try hunny, I’ll try. Really. Would be a shame not showing my fancy “sponsor” design at the races. 😉
