Race Day 1 with Bandit 22LTE at TrYC

I am still speechless… We had today the first Bandit 22LTE race at TrYC. The boat is less than 2 weeks old and there is of course a big hype on it… but anyway i didnt expect 12 boats in this race. WOW and a big THANK YOU to
Porter
Nicole
Joris
Moon
Emileigh
Jenna
Adeli
Lucy
Sea

Dream
Lisa
They did the TrYC B25R Course with wind 18knots and North East, which means a fast downwind start with spin.

all passing the TrYC dock after the start to go through the harbor Exit bottleneck

They all found their way passing buoy 1 and reached all close together buoy 2, still with full Speed.

Sailboat traffic jam at buoy 2

After they all got sorted around buoy 2 they started on the first upwind leg and Speed of the fleet cooled down a bit, but they were still close together

Moon, Nicole, Jenna and Lucy the first 4 after the turn
upwind fleet formation
the first 4 shortly before the tack to the north
and the second Group following not far behind
the first 4 passing the Roman boat
and the second Group still following
the turn around the Roman boat was crowded but very fair and preparing for the next Spin leg
end of spin leg #2
end of spin leg #2
and again cooling down for a Long upwind leg
the sorting Changed a bit on the Long upwind and all in a Long line now
and the second half of the Pearl strip
end of the Long upwind leg and turning to the last Spin leg
reaching the last zigzag part in Dunai short before the finish

Until this Point only 3 crashed from the 12 and most came through without major issues. I was curious about taking some nice finish pictures, but then i saw them nearly all flying through the air around the last buoy and i thought “why the hell now”… But fortunately they all came down again and finished one after another…. as you can see in the results:

At the end of the race we met all for a beer at TrYC dock and chatted about the race. I can only thank all the fair Racers for this race. I was very close to be overextended. This boat is fast and keeps the fleet close together. It sounded that all had fun and i hope i will see you all back again next week. Tuesday, 1pm on same course with a different wind.

hugs and kisses

  1. And of course Orca missed it. 😦
Was deeply and sound asleep on the sofa and just came too at around 3 a.m. at night. 😮
    So fuxn sorry guys. 😦
Congratz to all the fleet and in particular to my old friend Potty for the grand win. See what you can do if you put away the funny ciggie for a moment and just sail, like in the good old days?
    That Tank Girl genny you?
