6th Bandit 25R race at TrYC

Another rough racing day in sl. Candy, Lucy, Dahlia and Nicole joint me in yesterdays Bandit 25R race at TrYC and we sailed the Course TrYC Bandit 25R with wind South East and 21knots.
The results might say all have finished nicely but well it was another Rough sailing day. Lucy lost Control Right before start, but could get back in the boat and start. Nicole crashed near buoy 2, came back and started new. Dahlia crashed somewhere between buoys 1 and 3, could get into her boat again and continued. Candy crashed Right after the start, came back and started again. Later on the Course she crashed a second time but came back again and continued her race.
I have no clue why only me came through all the Course without major issues.

I had to correct the results later manually, because the different new starts confused the raceline totally.

I can only say i love my racing Group. They  all come back and try to finish this race, no matter what happens. High Five for these great sailors.

We all pray for better conditions in near future, because this race on this Course can be a very exciting one when we all have fair conditions without sl lottery.

Here is the race result:

And, BINGO! There’s your problem … or multiple problems.

SL has too many factors, too many points of failure. Just because 3 or more people are crashing in the same race doesn’t mean they all crashed for the same reason. It could be a badly maintained SL region, a bad internet connnection, badly maintained network or just home made problems, caused by bad choice of cheapo hardware and routers at home.

Come on, particularly we girlies have a tendency to spend more money on our RL and SL physical appearance than on computers. And most of us are even too lazy to plug into our routers but go WiFi. I’ve even heard of girls connecting to SL from a different storey than where their router is located, many not even knowing where in the house it is installed because they didn’t supervise their hubbies during installation, totally oblivious and ignorant of their own fate. 😮

That’s often already enough to make them crash and burn. 😦

  2. i have only a 30 year old telephone cable into my house and i bet ist still as thick as my arm and the very thin Copper cable to my router… but i use that, my Wifi is even slower than my slow Internet already… works for the tablet in Livingroom to look up things in Internet but not for more

    • Zacly Bianca!
Make the best of wot you got and don’t risk your race by going wireless. We started here in SA in 2002 with a 128 kb connection. Kb, not MB. 😮 Later, SL was a dregg too. But I always plugged into the router to avoid total disaster. Now on fibre it’s like a dream.

And telll your politicians they should be ashamed! ‘schland should be one of the leading global tec nations, instead they are gambling it all away, ever since Kohl said Germany doesn’t need glassfibre and damned us to eternal DSL and rusty copper wires. 😮

Here in piss poor hell hole Africa you see worktroops laying down fibre all over town. It’s not that hard, and could get many people out of unemployment. That’s a stimulus the German economy really needs.

      • oh they have in most big cities the fibre, but not in the countryside where i live… less than 300 inhabitants with next bigger City or even Village 16-19km… but they told us we might get it end of next year…

        • Lucky you. I mean I’ve watched how they did it here inside our complex, there’s reallly not much at it. A group of diggers can come a long way in one day. And a hamlet with <300 inhabitants doesn't need a major cable strand. Just a main cable, roundabout fingerthick, splitting off the next connected village. Just get it like 30 cm in the ground or use existing sewage canals or electric mains or any already existing subterranean conductors.
In our little complex, 117 units plus manager office and security shed, we even had 2 fibre laying companies laying down 2 fibre strands independant from each other. And 10 – 20 ISPs selling bandwith from both fibre cables. Still seems to be a good enough bizniz for all involved parties.

  3. You should know Germany is controlled by norms and regulations. So for digging it into the ground as well (80cm Deep). And next point is they want a positive busisiness case for the little settlements around, means Costs versus wins…
