1st Bandit 25R race at TrYC

The Bandit 25R is relaxed fun for racing and when you sail it at the limit very exciting. We were racing this boat for more than two years at KTYC, but after i left that club and all races there behind i needed a bit of time to find a new place to continue this tradition. Yesterday was the first “new” race for it at TrYC.

Lucy, Candy, Dahlia, Laured and Nicole were happy that this race is back and their smile made me happy. We have one course at TrYC: TrYC Bandit 25R

and we started with North East wind of 18knots. The wind direction will Alternate weekly (NE, SE, SW, NW). That helps to learn to know this course, but it will make it a little different every week as well.

After the next couple of weeks everyone will know the course and its little tricks (super seagulls, boat wreck, roman boat, mean Orb) a lot better and we all can concentrate on exciting racing.

Yesterday the simcrossings were here and there a Little rough and unfortunately Lucy crashed and couldnt finish. But all enjoyed this Course and had fun out there.

Here is the result of our first race:

  1. “super seagulls, boat wreck, roman boat, mean Orb”

Where on this course can a orb mess with you? Only place would be the corner of Ullahoo. But all boats should sail past that sim quickly enough to not get in trouble. If the orb is super mean, a friendly IM to the owner of that parcel, asking them to please be a bit more lenient with the time limit can work wonders. And maybe a reminder that their orb is illegal to spill over into public waterways Dunai West, Dunai and Dunai Lower. If they are not co-operating a griefer report would be in order.

And the seagulls are still a problem? You mean the group of three or four in Coontz? I asked the LDPW more than once to set these fuckers to phantom … in 2010 – 2014 or so. LL are such bad hosts. 😦

And I like your course, very good use of almost all Bingo Strait and Dunai Sims have to offer. I had also a course all around Nautlius Island, which is more of a speedster course, and some courses into Dire Strait with networked racelines. Oh, and I had a silly course for my hooliganish TrYC Zpeed Trialz! Networked the startline in Plum Gut with the finish line in Triumphal and started the boats in 1 minute relays and set wind to SE. So it was downwind pretty much the whole way. Only one rule: use your fastest boat and try not to crash. Was always great fun.

      • Haha, I forgot the names of most of our neighbour sims. Only remembered the 4 or 5 Dunai sims, had to look up the rest. Doesn’t matter, was I correct about the location of the fukn orb?

Is the Open Waters group still active? I remember they made a nice notecard we could send to parcel owners’ profiles. It was very unaggressive but gave them nice hints how to make their orbs fall more in line with the Lab’s regulations.

        Hoppy Easter
