As I’m saying since years already, the old canon of the Skywalker Saga is dead. Ruined by Kennedy, Abrams and Johnson. There is no coming back out of the cul-de-sac they maneuvred themselves into. The only thing that could save the galaxy far away and the whole Star Wars franchise now would be Skywalker-free movies and series. Live action or animated isn’t really important but whatever they do, should be free of any characters related to the Skywalker-lore.

While The Mandalorian is a first step in the right direction, a series around Obi-Wan Kenobi is a giant step back into the old misery.

There are – by god – many cool and intriguing characters in the Star Wars universe. Many of them indeed even losely tied to the canon as we know it from the movies, but still stand-alone characters with their own backgrounds and stories. Characters from both sides of the conflict, from the old and the new republic. Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade, Wedge Antilles, stormtroopers, X-Wing pilots and cabin girls and many more. It’s a vast universe and stuck in permanent civil war. A good, rich background to spin a web of exciting stories. But those Disneydiots don’t see the potential and are always falling back on the old story … every time told with less enthusiasm, more plotholes and shittier characters who all behave like a bunch of 6 year-olds. 😦

I have a bad feeling about this Obi-Wan Kenobi stuff.
