Finally.
After being a spoiled, politically unconscious brat for much too long, just a minute ago I decided to follow hub’s good example and installed the freakish(ly good) Firefox sidekick Waterfox on my system. Even made it my default browser. Of course I’m still having the Firefox as well but if I don’t run into any serious trubbelz in the next kuppla days I guess I’ll toss it and go full Waterfox. Like the good politically aware netizen I always claimed to be.
I tried Waterfox a couple times already in the past but always went back to Firefox proper because it’s just more comfy and luxurious. But Waterfox became better in many aspects and is pretty close now to the creature comforts of its mothership. Thar She Blows! opens as my Homepage, Bookmarks and Add-Ons and even my often used sites are all there, my most fave search engines are added in a few minutes, and then I’m good to go and can live in the net the same way as I always did.
That. Plus Prof. Stallman will be so fukn proud of me.
Perfect.
I’m going to try this out. I’ve been experimenting with some of the other Firefox forks just for fun (like Iceweasel).

I’ve tried Iceweasel too but somehow I prefer luxury over security. 😉

A nice happy medium would be great security with a comfortable UI. That seems to be difficult to find! (For instance, Riot Messenger.) The Tor Browser seems to achieve this pretty well, I must admit.

The concept of aTor browser is intriguing I guess. But only if I can import my 3 fantastillion bookmarks and can have my most important add-ons. Waterfox took them over from FF without a problem, can your Tor browser do that too?

Oh, it’s a competition now? I don’t add plugins to Tor because it creates more of a browser fingerprint. I think you can import bookmarks, but I’ve never tried it. The whole point of Tor is anonymity, really.

No competition, never. I just pick what suits my natural lazyness best. 😉 I guess I’ve not typed a single URL into the address thingie of any browser in 20 years or so. And with me having a blog I’ve created some kinda footprint anyway, no? Also I never do any really bad evil shit that needs me to stay totally anonymous, at least I hope so.

That’s what I do: Inspiring people … in one or the other way. If not good for anything else I can at least always serve as bad example. 😉
