It’s that time of the month again. 😉
\o/ YAY! \o/
Dunno exactly why but I kinda love this monthly sailing show. Yes, it’s cheesy and wannabe dramaticised in “Real TV” style, and therefor a tiny bit silly. Also it’s 100% about races and regattas, so exactly what sailing for most of us just isn’t. At least not for 99% of sailors 99% of the time. And making hero figures from the most unspectacular and calm people on the planet just doesn’t suit the sport.
Anyhoo, quite good entertainment. So let’s get entertained, shall we?
0:51 36th America’s Cup Overture
7:17 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race – part 1
13:48 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race – part 2
17:23 52 Super Series – Puerto Portals
20:39 Extreme Sailing Series – Straight talk
To complete the 1,800 mile course means negotiating strong tides, volatile weather and the UK’s most notorious headlands. Little surprise that the RORC Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race is considered by many to be Europe’s toughest race. This year was no exception.
It was a big day for the sailing world’s most prestigious trophy as the America’s Cup returned to Cowes to take centre stage as the plans for the 36th America’s Cup were revealed.
Plus, we head to Puerto Portals for the 52 Super Series’ penultimate event and to the Extreme Sailing Series for some straight talk.
Of course they had to waste the first 7 minutes on that fukn insignificant America’s Cup egoistic millionaires race, but the show gets better after that. The 52 Super Series is prolly the best sailing you can get on the planet right now, and for us (ex) local yokels of the North Sea the Round Britain and Ireland Race is always a nice event to observe.
