Berry’s Monday Meme :(

#SecondLifeChallenge – Halloween in Second Life
Lovely Berry turned murderous bone collector. 😦

You know that I usually support Strawberry Singh’s Monday Memes and do them whenever I find the time or like the theme. NOT SO THIS WEEK! For a variety of reasons. Here let me tell you why:

Firstly this is a Halloween topic. I’m not American and know nothing about this local holiday and its lore.

Secondly we’re asked to masquerade in some Halloween outfit. Jeebus, I’m happy if I find a bikini to wear in my chaotic inventory, have no patience and no willpower to spend money on a useless costume.

bvnThirdly is this Monday meme sponsored by the Blogger and Vlogger Network BVN, and not even a real meme, not even in Berry’s very wide and tolerant definition of the term meme. So if you must look at the original challenge and learn how you can win prizes from the VPN, well, you won’t find anything here in Orca’s bloggsy but you must surf over to Berry’s.

1500 fresh Lindies is nothing  to sneeze on, right?

Oh oh oh, I just notice I am a member of the BVN myself. Well, that doesn’t make me a facebook or Flickr user or agree with any marketing and publicity gimmicks.

  1. Halloween is not really American. Halloween is an annual holiday, celebrated each year on October 31, that has roots in age-old European traditions. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Like many holidays its name was changed by the early Christian church to try to ween people away from their pagan beliefs.

    • Yeah, and we have similar holidays and autumn/winter celebrations as well. Multiple carnivals and thanksgiving festivities … but nothing like your halloween. I guess the pumpkin fruit was totally unknown in Europe before we ever heard of halloween.

  2. We have the same as the Mexicans, Lodia de los muertos, but with much less gore, is a holiday where ppl go to visit their deceased beloved ones. There is no parties at all (the big reason is cause of the 1755 earthquake)
