Speaking About the Devil …

… and he appears! 🙂

Not even three minutes after posting about our improved food situation without mobo, the Gigabyte repair center called … my mobo is ready for collection. \o/ YAY! \o/ Now spent the majority of the day re-assembling MiniMax for the umpteenth time and reinstalling Manjaro. But now all is fine …

mobo
Assembled the mobo array. Hopefully this time it will give me better service for a longer period than last time.

What I did so far was installing Manjaro Linux with the Mate desktop, did the first update, upgraded from open source graphics to proprietary Nvidia drivers and switched to the latest Linux kernel 4.13.4-3. There is only one newer driver available but that one is still “experimental” and I’m not that crazy. Having always the latest shit is great, destroying your system with unstable crappola is just stupid. Couple years ago Orca would’ve done it but now she’s too cool. 🙂

Installation finished, tweaking the system may still take a while at this point.

Have to cook dinner now and we wanna watch videos afterwards. So installation of SL viewer will have to wait until tomorrow …

CYA then. 🙂

  1. Hmmm sort of sounds like me in the last line. I don’t have to cook but I want to cook.. That takes a lot of the time I spent in SL and to some extent Sansar. Plus I don’t like the getting involved with the drama that LL is causing with Sansar. So I’m taking a vacation from LL related worlds/experiences by cooking and spending some time in World of Warcraft. There are times when gentle and non aggressive Willow likes to kick some virtual butt.
