… or have you not … installed Ubuntu MATE yet?
Please excuse me asking, I know it’s not my fukn business, but I’m just so curious. Must find out not only if anybody is reading all my Linux shit but also if anybody is stupid enough to trust in Orca’s “expertise” and actually followed her advice and installed Ubuntu MATE Linux on their computers.
If so, how you like it so far? Is good, eh? Ran into any problems yet? Got all the drivers and peripherals installed? How is the handling, missing any critical softwares or got anything you wanted?
Needless to say I’m in luuuurv with Linux in general, with the MATE DE in particular, and the brand new Ubuntu MATE spin made me trust in Ubuntu-based Linux distros again. But I’m not a reliable witness, I wouldn’t trust in anything that silly Orca says. Fortunately I heard many other voices in YouTube and forum comments, and all of them positive.
Ok, so I guess I’m not far off the mark as far as Linux distros go. But what about Linux at large? You got any problems with the new for you environment or went everything swimmingly?
Peepels, little cutey Orcsi needs some feedback! You know I’d write my shitty blog even if I was the last person or avatar on earth but since I assume I got at least one or two actual living readers I’d really like to know what kinda success my Linux mission has shown yet.
Guess I must not tell you that I really like Linux, not only as some obscure internet server OS but as daily driver on my desktop as well. You know that already, dontcha? So how about letting me now what kind of impact I’ve made on my readers and if I was right to recommend one or the other Linux distro for you?
So peepels, boyz n gurlz, talk to me!
You find many space to write me love/hate letters, so much opinion, right below this blogpost!
[…] Say, have you? […]

It looks very nice even if it’s a bit on the green side. I think i would go for Ubuntu Gnome myself. Less icons and stuff in Gnome, more of a modern desktop look.

Green side, wotz dat???
Well, Guh-nom; me’s not a fan of the new 3.xx stuff. It’s too bereft of many functions, too restrictive and doesn’t offer all the tweaks/mods I love and want so much. Let it look as sleek and modern as fuk, if the functionality goes down the shitter in my book it’s no good. It’s one of those modern all-in-one desktops you could use equally as well on your tablet or phablet or smartyphone. It’s for those overworked and stressed idiots who want everything as easy and ready-made as possible, they want for other people to take the decisions, so they don’t have to. But I think if they want a supposedly carefree desktop they can go to Windoze or MacOS.
Meanwhile I’m happy on Gnome 2 (MATE) where I can fiddle with all my windows until all is perfect, where I have an “active” desktop on which I can just create folders and icons. In other words: A desktop that let’s me work in the way I’ve learned it in 1992 when I got my first Win 3.1 computer.

You can do a lot of Gnome changes in gnome-tweak-tools, far more than in gnome-settings. There’s even a plugin system there.
Now I’m waiting for the next update of Voyager http://voyagerlive.org/ which is a nice twist on Ubuntu. I will most likely stay with Antergos on my 2nd sdd, but it’s fun to try things out in Virtualbox https://www.virtualbox.org/
