The Xmas Power of F.O.S.S.

Free and Open Source Software that is. Since many many years, actually long before I switched from Windows to Mac to Windows and from Windows to Linux, I’m using VLC (Video Lan Converter) as my trusted media player. That thing is software as its supposed to be, looks like nothing but is super powerful. In fact I haven’t found any video or music format VLC wouldn’t play happily.

And as if I wasn’t happy enough with that nice peace of free software, every year at the end of December my good old VLC looks like this:




Nice, eh? VLC’s famous roadworks cone with a santa hat. 😉

Now can your Windows Media Player do that as well? Is Microsoft nice enough to show you a little xmas thingamajig every time you open the player? No? Aaaaaw. :/
